Update (February 8, 2025):I can now confirm the effectiveness of odor removal as outstanding. I placed a single bag in my hamper but could still detect odors after 1-2 weeks. After reading another review, I added another bag (two), and the stale odor was completely gone within a week. Even as I increased the number of clothes, it remained without a single odor. So yes, these charcoal deodorizes work and work exceptionally well. While I am unsure if the absorption came from time or the additional bag, it does not matter; I have found my new charcoal odor eliminators. As a result, I am updating my rating of 3 to 5. The purchase is an instant one moving forward. You can find my original review below:My headline sums up my thoughts about this product. I only utilize charcoal odor eliminators in my closets and drawers as I am susceptible to artificial fragrances and do not wish for my clothes to absorb such smells. I also found that charcoal eliminates odors and keeps garments fresh for lengthy periods. If you place clothing in your closets or dressers, you will find a freshly laundered smell that remains until the charcoal container (whatever holder) needs replacing. While charcoal has no simulated odor, its smell is distinctive – you can smell charcoal (slightly), and it is a welcoming scent. Unfortunately, that familiar smell is absent from these packs. Some might criticize my thought process regarding their effectiveness as a result. Still, it is honestly the first time I have not been able to smell the presence of charcoal (in decades of its use for this specific application). As a result, I must (in good integrity) reserve a better product rating until I can verify its efficiency. The bags are durable/well-made, more extensive, and heavier than anticipated (which is a good thing, in my opinion), and if they can last two years, they will replace my usual brand (the cost savings would be a no-brainer). But it will take some time until I can trust that it will work as well as what I already use. Therefore, I must pause, wait, and return to update the results later. I rate the product a 3/5, which is more than fair until experience can increase (or decrease) my assessment.

I put one of these bags in a closet that had become musty due to a water leak and another in the cabinet that houses one of our cat’s litter boxes. It has been two weeks, and I have noticed a reduction in the odors emanating from both. I have a similar bag in the bottom of our kitchen trashcan and was hoping to replace it but unfortunately these are too big.

These bags are big, packed full and well sealed! They come individually wrapped, so they don't start absorbing stuff until you open the bag to "deploy" them. That's a great feature, because charcoal does have a limit on how much odor-causing aerosol it can absorb efficiently, and there's no reason for it to be trying to absorb the shipping odors before it even reaches you. They're nicely made and aren't shedding charcoal dust everywhere. The textile bags make them look less obvious (especially in a visible, open location, like on a shelf near a cat litter box or a small pet cage), and they don't slip easily so you can nestle them on a bookshelf in front of the books, and they're not likely to fall off. Each has a pound of charcoal, so they last a while, although it's a good idea to periodically pick them up, flip them around and agitate them (shake the contents) to try to get some of the interior charcoal up closer to the surface. Very nice set!

These bags are big and substantial! I was impressed when the box arrived how heavy these are and how many were included. They seem to do an above average job at reducing odors especially in a small space like a car, but they also work in my office. I like the different colors, and the bag material quality is pretty good.

These bags do a good job of eliminating odors. They are large, so don't fit inside shoes, but I put one in my closet next to the shoe rack and it definitely helps. I also like to keep one in the cabinet next to a small trash can, and one in the room with the litter box. I notice their effectiveness more in the smaller more enclosed spaces. They don't replace smells with another smell, they just reduce the amount of odor that is already there. I like that they can be recharged by putting them in direct sunlight.

Seems promising so far. I put one of these near my cat’s litter box and the area definitely seemed fresher smelling the next morning. I like that these aren’t masking odors with artificial fragrance.

This is a 4 pack of medium sized charcoal bags. The bags are 6x7.5 inches, with 16 ounces of charcoal inside. These will not fit inside shoes! But they are great under a car seat to absorb any odd funk. Or in a drawer or closet or behind a door in a room. I would avoid the bathroom, it might be too moist there. Charcoal absorbs odors steadily. You can also put them in the sun to air out and get a bit recharged. Once they aren't absorbing as well, dump the bag into your garden, or just put the entire thing into your green bin. I haven't noticed any charcoal dust leaking out, but the old car smells are reduced. Great price for 4 large de-stinking bags!

I have a bunch of palm-sized charcoal odor absorber and found them to be working well. I had no second thoughts on getting these when I saw them available. My existing ones are all gray and they're hard to spot, blending in with a lot of other colors around the house. I'm having trouble remembering where I put them since you're supposed to put them in direct sunlight every few months or so to make them work again. First off, these are huge. They're a lot bigger than the ones I have. A lot. I'm expecting them to absorb odor faster then. The downside is I can't put one of these in a drawer since they're so big. They fit nicely in a closet or a car trunk though. Since these are so colorful, I won't have trouble locating them.
