The hour meter works great and was super easy to install. It doesn't feel like it's going to break and the display has worked fine so far. These and the vibration hour meters are both good and the vibration ones are much easier but also 2-3x the cost of these. And these already feel too expensive. I feel like for what you're getting the price is too high but at the end of the day it works well and serves its purpose.

I have a portable brush cutter that requires servicing at regular intervals...of course it came without an hour meter so you either have to time and log how much you use the machine or find a work around. For me this is that work around.The meter is easy to mount on the control plate of this machine and is small enough that it would be easy to mount on almost anything that has a gas motor.It works by registering when the machine has started running from a small wire that extends from the device itself and which you just wrap around the top, exposed part of a spark plug. The plug firing while the engine is running keeps the meter going and it turns off when the motor is shut down.So, no more guessing or note keeping at to when x number of hours have gone by...it's easy enough to see on this meter. Servicing intervals are also easy to figure out because you can reset this meter easily if you want to. Works well and is so inexpensive I'm going to get more for my other gas powered devices.

I have lots of powered equipment and I'm careful to change the oil during the hourly intervals recommended. As such, I mount one of these inductive meters my generator, lawnmower, pressure washer, etc. I've never had an issue with any of them. I keep most equipment outside and these meters seem impervious to the rain, snow and sunlight. No issues. They're a good investment.
