I think this product is best fit for someone who just needs a bit of extra storage for a road trip or something similar- It's a great value compared to getting a full roof rack and roof box, which can cost hundreds of dollars more. However I would be concerned for durability over time due to the softer material- it might struggle a bit in harsh winds compared to something like a solid roof box, your mileage may vary. It is a very big box and has lots of room. It was pretty easy to install too. I use it for taking family to the airport, and it works fantastic.Overall I think this box is a good option for someone who just needs a bit more room to store things but isn't sure whether or not to make the full leap to a roof rack and roof box.

So we have a car, van, and pickup. They all have their uses, so when I got the chance to try this out I wasn't paying much attention to the sizing... Well dang, to quote Robert De Niro in, "Analyze That", "Look at the size of that trunk, you can fit three bodies in there". You actually can, I fit myself, my daughter, and my wife in it just to add some validity to that statement. Of course we didn't zip it up, but we could have. Next up was a weekend trip through a snow storm. Despite not needing to, I kept our luggage in the bag to find any weaknesses. None were found. The shell is thick and heavy. The zippers are as water resistant as zippers can get. At no point was I ever concerned about anything happening to my luggage. We did not, however, try the anchor hooks that came with, instead I ran the included ratchet straps perpendicular to the hooks at the front and rear of my trucks bed and used the bags built in straps to tie onto them, 3 on each side. This got our bags safely through a 3 day, 400 some odd mile weekend trip where it snowed for the first and last days.

The material is like a thick inflatable boat. Properly secured it doesnt seem like any seem stitch would be effected. I clicked the strap clips in and out several times to see if they would break, they seem to have enough flex that would be dependable. In the pictures I have 5 sleeping bags a tent and snowboard, inside so theres alot of room. When deflating it for packing it back up I realized it holds air and only deflates at the zipper, so I think you could inflate this with air to get the "square look". Id rather have better fuel mileage and secure cargo, so dont mind the bagged look.It comes with 2 additional cargo straps, that I imagine I could run from front to back. But without them the bag straps held the cargo secure. It also comes with a luggage lock. The quality of which I dont trust. But even with a good lock it took me 10 seconds to drag this off my roof fully loaded, by unlocking the straps. It doesnt come with instructions on how to attach the straps to the roof rack, but after 30 minutes of really thinking about it, it worked out.

This thing is huge. I bought it to ride on my flatbed for storage and it serves that purpose well. The material is thick and sturdy. The whole thing is very well made. I don't expect it to be completely weather proof, but the containers I am putting inside of it will very effectively keep everything dry unless I drive into a lake.

Great quality rooftop cargo bag. A fairly well sized bag for you to maximize the space IN your car by using this ON TOP of your car. This makes a road trip much more bareable when traveling with kids. So far so good with 1 road trip down. Will update after our trip here this spring!

I was surprised when I opened the box and found this isn't a hard-sided unit. I see now, examining the ad that this is a soft-sided bag.It is made from thick, rubbery cloth and seems quite strong and the straps around the perimeter allow for cinching down the bag to fit tight against the contents. However, it is hard to get it so it doesn't have parts flapping in the wind. It would be nice if it had a way to pressurize it so it stayed full-sized and strong, like a bouncy house or air mattress.Lastly, check the measurements, this is a large carrier (30 cu. ft. is very big), so ensure you roof is large enough. This fits my minivan, but not my Chevy Volt.

We were traveling and around 1/2 through our trip the cargo bag ripped. We patched it the best we could. Luckily we didn’t drive through any rain. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone.1 good thing is after we loaded the cargo bag we had a huge rainstorm. After checking the cargo bag did keep the rain out. Everything was still dry, but that was before we started our trip.
