Onan on board 4kw generator would start and run a few seconds and die, flash a code 36, which just means shut down without a command. Ran if I sprayed starting fluid down the throat. Figured it had to be fuel related so started in order what I thought would be cheapest and easiest with fuel filter, fuel pump, and finally carb. Pain in the ass to work on. Fuel pump in hindsight was worst job. Carb was fairly easy, except for the butterflies are kind of in the way to get it in and out, but just have to be patient. This came with a couple fuel shutoff valves which was really handy because I wanted to install anyway. I was getting pretty frustrated, but when I put this in it fired right up and runs great. The old carb did not look dirty or have gelled fuel. I was going to get a genuine Cummins carb, but decided to take a chance. The reviews were good on this, it was cheap, and even the Cummins had a few bad reviews, and they are probably both made at the same factory in China anyway. My only regret is not starting with this.

I was skeptical about ordering a carburetor that isn’t OEM, after reading so many reviews, but I decided to try it anyway! I lived in my RV Jan-Nov last year. I was connected to shore power & forgot to run the generator to keep the gas from gumming up the carb. That’s exactly what happened! Replacing the carb is a bit tricky because it’s a really tight fit. This one works great & I’m happy that I saved a lot of money!

I installed one of these on my motorhome generator which never ran rite with this carb but was better than the 500$ Onan carb at first. I bought a second for backup. The first one lasted about 2 weeks and it started surging so I got the back up and installed it. It wouldn’t run at all with the second carb. I then purchased a Onan carb, installed it and the generator fired right up and runs flawlessly. I agree that Onan is robbing people for the price of a carburetor but after wearing all the bolts out changing carburetors I would gladly pay 500$ for the Onan carburetor.

ONAN 4000 GENERATOR comes with what you need. the extra fuel lines the sedn are small. 1/8". and the hose clamps didn't fit OG fuel line. other than that a great deal. prime the carburetor and it started right up. best bang for the buck

After repeatedly trying to clean the Onan carb with limited results, I decided to replace the carb. Onan recommends using their brand carb, but for the price I decided to try this unit. It was easy to install and the unit fired right up with no surging, a steady idle, and proper operation at full generator load. Also installed a fuel shutoff to avoid future problems.

I purchased this unit after removing and attempting to clean my stock Onan QG4000 4KYFA26100P carburetor, but I did not get it to run. The generator sat for several years unused, so became permanently clogged. The install definitely goes easier when you remove the air filter and temporarily reinstall the nut to increase the gap for carb removal/reinsertion. Only install problem was the hole in the grommet for the throttle linkage (arm & associated spring) had to be drilled slightly larger to attach both the arm and spring. The new carb did smell slightly of gasoline, some say it was used, but it may be that the unit was actually tested with fuel. The generator now runs as smooth as the day I purchased it.

This replacement carburetor kit worked perfectly. Good value for the money!Pretty difficult to remove and replace due to the working space, but it can be done without removing the generator from the motor home.After replacing, the generator started right up and ran perfectly.Note; During removing take care not to get and gasket material in the manifold tube as I did it’s a bear to get it out. (Good luck)

I will start out with a good stuff. I watched some videos online and managed to change the carburetor on my Onan RV QG 4000. The carburetor looked pretty well identical. Everything lined up and fit. The generator started right away and runs great.For the bad and weird stuff now… One of the gaskets was not correct. I modified a gasket I had laying around to make it work. Some of the stuff that came in the box was kind of useless. There was an included fuel shut off that I thought I would plumb into the generator but there was no hose that fit it. There was hose And a fuel filter included but the hose was not the right size for my generator. I know there is Onan one down at the bottom of the generator but just thought it was weird that that stuff was there.In the end it was a lot cheaper than buying a factory carburetor.An FYI For anyone trying to remove the carburetor on this specific generator, the two bolts that are buried underneath the air filter are 10 mm bolts.

Starts and runs fin untell you put a load on it and it dies. Put new OEM carb on and works perfectly.
