I can't tell you how many times I've seen people solder pipe and almost catch the wall on fire...I wanted to completely avoid that. This is perfect for putting behind the pipe and to solder without having to worry about catching something on fire in the attic or in a crawl space.Large mat is perfect since it covers a large area and you don't have to worry about moving it around.You can cut this to size if you do need to have a couple smaller pieces.Does exactly what it says it does.
