I am a beginner senior student at 73 and have been at it for nine months. I had the money for and purchased a five-star professional outfit. My violin was a handmade copy of a Stefan Petrov, and my strings are what I consider the best that money could buy, but my expensive Brazilian wood bow was holding me back. It felt too heavy, and cumbersom so I switched to a good carbon fiber bow, which helped a lot. However, it still wasn't meeting my expecitations and moving over the strings like I hoped. Okay, I'm not a patient person and want to sound at least like an advance beginner someday. I was getting frustrated. On line I found the Virgo's wood-covered carbon fiber bow. The reviews were mostly good, so I purchased it for what I considered a low price. I LOVE IT! It's light weight makes it nimble and my bow speed has increase substantially and most of all my confidence. The Gewa Bow gripm also helped. I would recommend it to any new students as well as older students who arn't patient like myself. It gave me the confidence I was looking for, and now my hours of practicing are paying off. Five Stars.

I played violin for a few years in school and recently picked it back up after mostly playing piano the last few years. Needed a new bow but didn’t want to spend hundreds. This bow is great! Is it the best bow ever? No. But for the price it’s a steal. Nicely weighted for my play style and sounds a step up from the older bow I had.

This is a very attractive bow and plays nicely. There was a little problem with the set up on the tension screw and nut. But I was able to get ahold of the company and they helped me to resolve the problem. It seams to be working better and I am using it now.

For the price you pay that gains can be significant. The materials are not costly, but the bow plays very well. I am able to use flautando much better and more precise than I can with my more expensive sticks. Economy parts with skilled makers make a huge difference. I’m glad I paid attention to the comments and the ratings. Just saved me from my bow maker hitting me up again for another 8k!

So, I own one of the vingobow pernambuco sticks and that was my cheapest bow and my favorite. I own many bows and that was my favorite and it was $80. I own bows worth many times that bow.I thought, ok, if that how is amazing, let me go a step higher. Now this now is my absolute favorite now because it makes my fiddle sound simply beautiful.Don’t let the price deter you. Even thought it is substantially cheaper than other bows that cost exponentially more, these bows are wonderfully crafted. I could recommend it more.It really open the voice of my fiddle with such warmth and precision. It’s an anomaly, really. I don’t understand how they are so much cheaper but sound so much better than my much more expensive bows.You won’t be disappointed.

I was looking for a new bow so I could use the one that has less hair for shooting videos. I tested this out and as a professional violinist of 24 years, I wouldn't recommend it to a pro. If you're looking for something cheap that looks cool and will do the job though, I think this fits that ticket.The bow was overall pretty heavy compared to my others and had more of a closed/muted frequency response compared to other bows sounding brighter and more open.

This is a fabulous bow for under $100. Because it's a carbon fiber bow it's not vulnerable to warping as a wooden bow, yet it looks exactly Ike a wooden bow because of the wood veneer. It is thin, straight, tapered well and is lite in the hand with a good feel. The craftsmanship is top notch. No one would know it's a carbon fiber bow. I've bought inexpensive wood student bows online that were visually thick, felt klunky and were a waste of money. I was so impressed with this bow I quickly bought another one.
