[The following review was submitted by Potato Bug - recent inductee to the 'Not A Mommy' club and professional escape artist]I went to visit doctor friends. I got sleepy and when I woke up, I was in this THING. I was not happy. I couldn't run, jump, and I definitely couldn't lick my itchy itchy belly. I tried to play with new toys when I got home but my arms kept getting caught if I potato-loafed [photo 1]. It pulled my legs and I walked funny for a bit. And, again, I couldn't lick my itchy itchy belly which was very important to me. It took a few days but I figured out how to escape from the THING and lick my belly. A lot. Mommy woke up, called me an evil weasel and put the THING back on me. It went on faster than I would have liked. I decided to make a game out of getting out of it in the middle of the night just to see how long it would take before mommy woke up and put it back on. I was very glad to have the THING taken off by mommy herself because I guess that means I can lick my belly now. I also won't stay off the counters because my hindleg game is apparently 'fire' now.Translation for humans - The onesie worked great for the most part. Not too heavy and easy to get on her [your experience may differ since she loves wearing a harness]. Definitely pay extra attention to the measurement chart when deciding which size to get your kitty because too small and it'll pinch, too big and they will walk right out of it. We got the small but she's right on the high end of that. It appeared to give her a slight wedgie if she really tried to stretch out which wasn't that bad of a deal considering she was recovering from spay surgery and stretching was a bad thing. As long as she had it on, she wasn't able to mess with her stitches which was the whole point of the onesie so bonus. She also had no problem using the litterbox while wearing it. She did, however, figure out how to shed it like a snakeskin by curling up until her arms slid out of the sleeves and into the onesie itself and then pushing the arms through the neck hole and just sliding out of it. I don't think there's a way to fix that without making the sleeves too tight and uncomfortable or potentially cutting off circulation somewhere. It's just something that people should be on the look out for so that the onesie can do its job of keeping stitches from being explored by mouthy kittens before their time. Photo 2 shows the main activity that wearing this product seemed to inspire - acting like she just finished a hard day's work of remembering the choreography for an upcoming part in an all cat version of 'Fame'. Hand wash, cold water recommended.

My cat tends to have an over-grooming issue, so at night we wanted to put him in this to prevent excessive licking. Well, he somehow managed to get out of this at night- no clue how, but at least he was nice enough to let me know at 4am that he got his freedom! This fit him very snugly, so I am quite surprised he managed to get out of it. I am just glad he didn't hurt himself when he got out of it, so kudos to this for at least not hurting my cat! I also do not know very well if they can use the litterbox in this- I mean, they should be able to, but you might need to clean this very often if so. This might be better suited for a sphynx cat than as a "recovery suit" if you cat regularly finds any ways to get out of clothing.

We have a cat who has had 2 abdominal surgeries in his short life. The surgery recovery suits have been a lifesaver. He escapes from the soft neck rings and couldn't figure out how to do anything with the plastic cone on his head. We have tried several types of suit and this one is my favorite. The material is soft and not too constricting (although he is very dramatic and will tell you that it's impossible to move while wearing clothing). This suit has a neck toggle to help keep the body suit on, giving me extra confidence when I'm not home. The suit has a full back velcro for putting the top on, which makes it easy to get on and off. The leg holes provide good movement for my cat and also have enough clearance for litter box use (one suit I bought from another manufacturer got instantly peed on and I had to alter it for him to use the bathroom). My cat is a large boy (12.5 pounds and long). The large was a bit roomy, but not too big. His larger brother can also wear it (14.5 pound Siberian Forest Cat). If you have a average sized cat (10 pound range), I might recommend a medium.

We have a kitten that recently got spayed and this suit was a lifesaver. I have always hated putting the plastic cones on my pets because it seems like they are so miserable. We first tried one of the soft donut collars which she was easily able to push off her head. A friend told me about these little recovery suits and it has been a life saver. It fits her well and tight enough that she is not able to wiggle out of it. It has a pulls string around the neck for extra security. It velcros up the back at a place where she is unable to reach and pull at. It has the (40 leg holes and an opening in the back that so far has been big enough to let her go to the bathroom with no mess. The material is soft and smooth, which I am sure feels nice on her incision. I recommend this for anyone who has pets having surgery. It is so much better than the collars.

I have two kittens scheduled to be spayed soon, and since I have other cats in the house I am trying to proactively prepare for their recovery. The cones that vets use are only helpful for keeping the patient-cat from bothering the surgical site. So, to try to protect her from the other cats that may be curious, I thought to try a surgical suit style instead. The material is soft but and the velcro seems to hold well. It is pretty thin, though. So I worry that if she resists wearing it too much it might rip. But since I plan to only have to use this for the one procedure, so that might not be an issue. The low price is attractive for my needs.

Took me a minute to realize I needed to turn the jumper around for a male cat. I just had him neutered and wanted something easier than the cone of shame. He hates that i got a pink one but he’ll get over it. :) It does take a minute to get on but once on it’s stayed. Overall, nicely made and it seems to be working well. I have a female cat that goes in a month and we shall see how it does for her but it worked for Gus!*As a Vine Voice it is an honor to give my honest review on items I genuinely need or have use for in order to help you make an informed choice.
