Ok, so these thimbles work for 1/4 wire rope, but they are small. They should be about 1/4 longer and maybe an 1/8 inch wider to better support the wire. Since they are a smaller size, it’s a bit of work to get the ends to tighten with cable clips. I’d don’t have any swagging tools so i can’t say if they would be any easier. I’m probably putting several hundred to just under a 1K lb load on the cables and would say that that’s probably the highest load I would go. There’s no documentation to the strength of these thimbles nor do they really appear heavy duty for high loads.
