I have a 2001 Kawasaki Lakota 300, the original CDI boxed died, I could start the engine, it would idle fine, but as soon as I tried to rev the engine it would instantly die. I put this one in, fired right up and revved full blast. It's definitely working. Kawasaki wants over 200 for a new OEM one, I wasn't going to spend that much. How long this will last is beyond me, but it gets the job done. Also, if you are replacing this, I suggest replacing the voltage regulator too, that is what fries these units. Trying to run your ATV with a dead battery will fry your voltage regulator too, since it's trying to draw too much amperage.

Replaced my old CDI Box Ignitor in 2000 Kawasaki KEF 300 Lakota. Immediately started up when I pushed the start button. Hopefully it will last a long time.

this fixed the no start condition on my 03 kawasaki 2x4. how long it will last over a new kawasaki cdi? i don't know, but its over a 100.00 cheaper.

I revised rating to one star to draw attention to the fact the box as shipped has a defective 3 pin connector that made a poor connection to my 2000 KLF300 BAYOU 4X4, and did not work reliably.Stock CDI box was bad causing poor performance . Swapped this in and ran great - till it died. Previously the ATV would die after a 10 minutes or so of running and restart but run very poorly, but it quit this time and wouldn't restart at all.Towed it home and put original CDI box on and it ran but poorly like it did before.Went to reinstall this replacement CDI and I noticed the 3 pin connector would not fit the factory connector and lock in place. I simply cut connector and short chunk of leads from factory CDI and soldered it in place on this part and it runs great now!
