These are bright and, importantly, very low profile. Like other reviewers I used these in the dash cluster for a mid-1960s Ford (in my case a 1965 Mercury Comet - I used blue blubs inside the blue cans and they look very good).However the two pins (aka nipples) are too narrow for the blub fixtures in my application. I am using the American Autowire kit for my car which has you fashion new/modern plugs for the dash (but still hosting BA9s bulbs as in the original). When I installed these bulbs I found they were falling out on their own - even causing a short that would pop the associated fuse.To work around this issue I dismantled my plugs (by prying out the metal insert from its plastic housing) and then gently bent the two bulb retainer arms inward. This effectively narrows the bulb sockets thereby correcting for the narrowness of these bulbs.Note that the original incandescent blubs fit perfectly w/out modification. And in fact a caliper demonstrated that he incandescent bulb can and pins are both significantly "wider" than these LED bulbs.You may wonder why I bothered to stick with these bulbs - why not order some other BA9s blue LED bulb style? The reason is because these bulbs are short enough profile to fit into the blue cans in the 1965 dash cluster. I did not want to remove my blue cans so I needed to find a bulb that was short enough to fit... nearly every other bulb style I tried was too long such that the bulb would get pressed back into the socket enough to dislodge it from the ground - thereby turning the bulb off entirely.Bottom line: These bulbs are, in my experience, a good choice for the mid-60s Ford gauge cluster however you may find you have to do a bit of light modifications on your bulb sockets for these bulbs to be retained securely.
