"Wide Azz Wrench"- They werent lyin'! You can't find these in stores anywhere! Woodcraft, HD, lowes, white cap, Fergusons, plumbing suppliers, auto parts stores etc etc. Nobody has it. I don't like to buy stuff I can't hold in my hands first (especially tools) but I had to risk it for this wrench. Amazing tool. Exactly what I had hoped for. Very compact yet very large capacity. I'm a full-time commercial and residential plumber and this is the only crescent wrench I use now. If I need crazy long leverage on some impossible giant nut, there's a pipe wrench in the truck for that. No need to carry 4 heavy wrenches anymore. Just this little beast. Very heavy duty but light. No play in the jaws. Stays where you set it to. Fits in otherwise impossible places. So very worth the $21. The three wrenches you would need to buy to equal this one would be twice that price or more. I kept the grip on mine. I have large hands (I wear a size Large glove) and it feels and fits very comfortable in my hands. Gloved or bare. It could easily double as a "fist pack". (see: Brass Knuckles)You need this wrench for finish plumbing. Have it next to you and your channelocks from start to finish and you'll shave tons of time off your installs and repairs because this one size does it all. It's great for replacing angle stops with little clearance and hard to reach flex lines. I'll be very pissed if I ever lose this thing. It's my new favorite tool. I'm buying the 8 inch version too just cause. I'll keep it in the car or in a frame over the mantle or something.Shipping note: It shipped really fast but the retail packaging was damaged. Cracked and ripped like it had been opened maybe. The tool also came scratched and a couple of the millimeter markings worn off (does anybody use those anyways?). But I ironically needed to use the wrench for a repair, literally the moment it came in the mail, so I just kept it. It's a tool I use everyday. Who cares if it's scratched up a little before I beat it up?

This compact size makes it ideal to work in tight spaces as air handlers and condensers, also is ideal to carry in veto bags, but the most important is that feels a quality product and looks good too, not to mention that it opens way more than one inch. Like and recommend it.

I have owned snap on adjustable wrenches, and I have owned the cheapest of the cheap. This is ABSOLUTELY the best bang for the buck in adjustable wrenches. Lets be honest, if you're trying to really tighten things down, use the proper wrench! If you need the quick adjustable wrench, I promise you, minus any manufacturing flaws, that this is THE BEST 8" adjustable wrench you will ever own. Its a fit all too. Keep that in mind. It opens WIDE, carries in your bag or pocket easy enough. Its the quick tool to grab to get the job done. I read the 1 star reviews, mostly a bunch of pretentious mechanics expecting this wrench to tighten the bolt for them and give them a $100 value for less than half the price. WELL, I'm a mechanic also, and if I hadn't have lost my first one ... I would still be on my second one. I kinda went Hulk-Smash on the handle on a 24mm bolt head and after a lot of smash, I snapped the slide portion off. I sure as hell won't ding a product for not putting up with the abuse it wasn't meant to be subjected to.Con. While I love the handle, it will not hold up to long term exposure to diesel and brake clean. I'm on my third one after losing, and then breaking one. So far this one is doing well, but i keep my tools clean. I really think it was my cleaning the handle with brake cleaner that ruined my first handle.Read the 1 and 2 star reviews, of course a bad quality control is warranted a bad review, but don't let the "I'm a mechanic and my word means more than yours" reviews deter you from a decent adjustable wrench.

First the differences between Channel Lock's flagship, the 440 tongue and grove pliers. These are made in Spain, and not the USA. The metal is much shinier than the tongue and groove pliers I've bought in the past two years. I've not had the opportunity to abuse them, so I can't speak for the quality of the metal. I don't have any reason to doubt these will outlive me unless I do something really stupid though. The blue rubbery material is completely different from the insulative sleeves on their tongue and grove and linesman pliers. Its thicker. It feels nice. However I am not one of those tool guys thats very picky about their insulated handles. On to the particulars of this model. The numbers are easy to read. The jaw opens slightly larger than the biggest tick mark. On the inch side the numbers go right to left. in the format 1/2 1 1/2 0. The leftmost 1/2 is actually 1-1/2". Minor nitpicking, but not a big deal to read. You can only use this as an outside caliper. Since the slim jaws are 3/16", wider than the teeth of most bolts, this is really handy for measuring the outside diameter of bolts coarse thread bolts when your calipers fit between the threads. This is not as thin as most thin wrenches though. I own a set of SAE thin wrenches that only have 1/8" increments. They are 1/8" thick. This is thin enough for my purposes though. The knurled adjustment screw has 1/2 more of a thread than most standard adjustable wrenches. It has 4 threads at each point in the screw. It does turn very well, but I don't know if that's due to the factory lubrication and the fact that its brand new.The lubrication was a surprise. It seems to be around the viscosity of 3 in 1 machine oil. I was expecting grease or dry lube. I am actually going to question Channellock about this. There is a set screw with a slot to disassemble this like 99% of the standard adjustable wrenches on the market. I have not attempted a teardown of this. Depending on what Channellock tells me I will likely disassemble, clean and relube with PB Blaster teflon lube.If you have an immediate need for either this or a set of thin wrenches, get this. The slightly thicker jaws will take more abuse. I've yet to find thin wrenches cheap enough where a set of SAE and a set of metric will be cheaper than this one wrench. If you want to make an extension bar out of some scrap metal pipe, you need about 1-1/2" interior diameter on the pipe.

Best wrench you’ll find in this size range. Nice and light but still sturdy and durable. Jaws open up surprisingly wide but don’t flex or bend if you put pressure on it. Very easy to hold and work with.Just make sure you realize you’re getting the 6†which is slightly smaller than their 8†version as most ppl go with the 8â€If you think you want it then order it. Won’t be disappointed. This is my second one of these as first one was stolen. Used first one for a couple years and it held up great with no issues

I am a millwright and welder by trade and carry an adjustable wrench in my coveralls daily. I end up using this wrench as everything from a prybar, a punch, a chipping hammer, a tap-ometer, and even occasionally as a wrench. I've tried Snap-On's version (both wrenches made in Spain, and with the soft grips off they look very similar), Mac Tools version (junk), Ukrainian Tire version (cheaper junk), but I keep coming back to my Channellock WideAzz. The metric and standard marks on the jaws are incredibly handy for roughly measuring nuts, bolts, shafts, plate steel, you name it. Like having a poor man's vernier caliper in your pocket that you can use to smack stuff and loosen stuff. It opens up to 1 5/8", which is awesome.I'm telling you as a guy that uses this wrench daily, it is truly incredible what you can fix with only this wrench in your pocket. I've gone through several over the years, and that's only because I've lost it. Never broke a single one and only slightly bent the handle on a couple ( from sniping and/or prybarring). Pro tip: cut the soft grip off, and the hole in the handle of the wrench is excellent for sniping allen wrenchs ect.Never stop making these wrenches Channellock!!
