These small binder rings are great. They all work fine. Many people seem to have trouble opening them. That is probably because they are not using the correct technique to open the rings. If you just tug on a ring at the joinder area in an effort to pull it apart, you will often fail because that is the worst, most ineffective way to open a ring.What you need to do is push the ends of the joinder area of the ring apart and, when the ends disengage slightly, then pull the ends apart to separate them. Applying the right amount of end-separation pressure and then switching the direction of pull to move the ring sections apart may be a little tricky at first, sort of like walking and chewing gum simultaneously, but trust me, you should have sufficient dexterity to master this movement. Just be careful. Don't push the joinder ends too far apart or you will damage the ring. If you use this method, you should be able to easily open all rings without much effort. But, if you just jerk on the opposing sides of a ring without first disengaging the joinder ends, you will fail to open many rings and you may even damage the rings you do open.Also, if the segments of a ring don't connect tightly together, then flex the rings slightly to create a tighter fit. This is an easy fix for a loose connection.Last, there seems to be considerable confusion regarding the size of these rings. I have attached a picture that provides the size information. In short, the inside diameter of the ring is .625 inches. This is 5/8 of an inch. The outside diameter of the ring is .75 or 3/4 of an inch. Some people seem concerned about the bulge on the ring. This bulge adds only 1/32 inch (.03125 inch) to the outside diameter and reduces the inside diameter by 1/32 inch as well. This slight difference should generally be irrelevant to the operation of this small ring. Finally, the material of the ring is 1/16 inch (.0625 inch) thick.So, the ring is slightly larger (.625 inch) than its advertised inside diameter (.5 inch), but I think this difference is too small to be problematic. Bottom line, the rings are fine, they are well-made and they should work well for you if you follow the use instructions of this post.

I got these for little booklets for a preschool class. The worst part is that they are difficult to open...the best part is they are difficult to open. If you work with young children, you will understand. k don't have to worry about the children choking on them since young ones will not be able to open them up! Works great for the booklets I make!

I use the rings to hold plastic sleeves with my notes on Dutch Grammar in them. I can easily view and flip through the -3-8 pages as I do my Duolingo lessons. The plastic sleeves are absolutely perfect. I wanted the smallest rings as larger ones were too heavy and cumbersome for the small packets I have. The only problem I have experienced is they can sometimes be difficult to unclasp. I thought initially I was going to have to return them but with some patience I got the hang of it. I have arthritic hands so this likely contributed to my difficulty. I had much rather the rings tightly connect as the plastic sleeves would fall out. The rings have worked beautifully for what I need. I find the sturdiness of the rings of good quality and a very good price for the quantity.

... so, if you think of it as a box of 70, rather than 100, then it is still not a bad buy for ~70 ½" rings... ...the primary defect is poor quality control in the hinge/riveting process, as about 30 have a hinge misalignment, such that the locking teeth do not meet to close & lock OR are so tight, you can not open them (by hand)... so, ~30 went into the trash. however, 70 are solid, good quality rings (which look and perform identical and very well) and here are some specific positives; • excellent, well-done, bright nickel plating (for all 100). • firm/tight hinge, with an easy, smooth movement (for ~ 70%). • very strong lock...so, no worries of an opening binder ring (for ~ 70%).again, an ok product, if you think of it as a 70 count box, rather than a 100 count ... as such, a fair deal & pleased with those 70,Thank you.

I have purchased this exact size of ring and style from other vendors...At the time, these particular rings were more affordable and available so I ordered...Previous rings from other vendors were very difficult to open, thus, I needed pliers...but they worked well and were shiny metal and possibly coated. These were quite the opposite.These rings are not shiny, they are dull...you think it won't matter, until you see how unattractive it looks in comparison to the very bright, shiny metal rings....But that aside means nothing compared to their function...I found that these are all LOOSE, which means that they are extremely easy to open, and could possibly open or unlatch when I don't need them to. I didn't need pliers to open these, which means that some were too loose. I read other comments talking about this subject but didn't understand the issues they were complaining about until I had experienced both types....A few of these rings had to be thrown out because I cannot close these at all, I tried hammering them, or bending but the steel is not malleable in that way...I was turned off by this characteristic, but have not had any fail yet...I have hundreds of these in use from other brands, but only 20 from this batch...only time will tell. Just misc. info: I use these for a needlework hobby and they only carry a few ounces of weight on each ring.

For my needs, this is the perfect size. The closure is extremely tight, won’t fall apart yet able to be undone. A little pressure is required but it releases. I use them for booklets I make with three hole punches. When I realize I have to add a page, I can undo it even when my booklet is thicker. Once I had to use a tweezer to open it. That’s it. Just once. LOVE this product.

Eu queria produzir material de estudo em casa, imprimindo e agrupando em forma de fichário. Os fichários disponÃveis comercialmente são muito grandes, queria uma coisa mais compacta. Agora posso manusear facilmente a coleção de textos e alterar somente as páginas que quiser facilmente.Os anéis são um pouco duros para abrir e fechar, mas isso não chega a ser um problema. As dobradiças são grandes, não passam nos furos feitos com furador doméstico. Esses anéis são de 1/2†ou 1,27 cm e, por isso, a distância do furo para a margem deve ser menor que a distância padrão dos curadores domésticos. Resolvi essa diferença colocando pequenas peças no esbarro do furador. Assim os furos são feitos mais próximos da margem. Na foto é possÃvel ver o furo feito em uma capa plástica na distância padrão e outro feito com o espaçador que coloquei. Agora está perfeito
