This review is for: CHAUVET DJ CH06 Lightweight Lighting Stand w/T-Bar (50lb Capacity) - Purchased for use with my band. Specifically for lighting dance floor with sound-activated party lights and a blacklight bar for an upcoming show. We have stage lights but needed something to throw some lights and color onto the dance floor. The DJ CH06 is a well constructed light stand for lightweight application. I do not believe that it would be wise to use this particular stand for heavy stage lighting, we have our own heavy duty stands for that. This is for lightweight use and is perfect for the job. The info says it extends to 12' but I only extended it to 10' 5" and it seemed just fine but I will be adding sandbags on the legs for a little *extra support* just out of an abundance of precaution and I will be positioning it in an out of the way location at the venue - out of the way as possible that is and maybe near a wall... Extended out to 10' 5" it was sturdy and not wobbly but even if it was a super heavy duty stand, I would still take the precautions mentioned above. Recommended? Yes. It is a very good value for the money for the correct application. Other reviews I've read seem to complain about it not supporting large lights and etc. The total weight of the lights I am using; 4 sound activated party lights, 1 blacklight light bar is approximately 6 lbs. And with that, I know that I can easily add more lights to it if need be.

value for the price. I stack four pars on top and two moving head pars hanging at the bottom. It works well but can be difficult to adjust with weight on it. I usually adjust the stand and then drop in the t bar with everything already attached. It holds well and as long as no one messes with it it’ll hold. I don’t feel confident enough to love it while it has weight on it. I would buy a second one once I have more fixtures. The plastic hardware feels ok but I expect it to break after so many set ups because it doesn’t feel tough.

I think overall it works and serves its purpose. It is a little shaky sometimes. The legs have screws that are not fully tightened (by design) but that allows for a little bit of wiggle here and there. Overall, it is still a solid product and it works for my mobile dj setup. I like that it extends pretty high up. I wonder who will build these with a cool cable management system built in. That would make things so much easier!

This system was much better than I had expected and really did a great job for me. I was able to hang all six of my lights without any issues or fears of it not being strong enough to hold them. The system itself is a little on the heavy side but not bad at all, because it breaks down to smaller sections for transport. I think it would be a little better if it were put together using all wring nuts, without the need for a screw driver, but it was not bad. If you are a begining DJ or just a novist, then this is a great system to start with. If I could post a picture of my setup I would, but I don't see that option from my phone.

While I had to "jimmy" a couple of the expansion holes just a bit because they were very tight, this thing is a lifesaver for my band. I bought an eight-light LED kit, and I was hoping to be able to fit most of them on this stand. No problem! The lights I got are too wide for all eight to fit under the T, so I install 4 on the bottom, and the other 4 on top. The LED lights are very light-weight, so I don't worry too much about the stand toppling. I do put EZup weights on the feet, just in case. I also try to tether the top to something secure, just in case we get a gust of wind. This stand is so easy to put up, and to take down. I just keep my lights installed on the top bar, as it's easy to transport back and forth. The T pops right off of the stand, then right back on again. It tightens with a nut that had a comfortable grip on it. EASY!

All metal construction, the only plastic are the hand knobs to tighten the legs and telescoping sections. The telescoping posts have evenly spaced holes drilled through them. There are pins and hairpin clips attached to each section to put through the holes to support the weight. Included is a bag with regular nuts, wing nuts, washers and bolts to go through the top cross bar. I used a regular nut and washer for the middle machined post and wing nuts and washers on the eight bolts that your lights hang off of. The holes in the cross bar are close to the bolt size I had to use my fingers to screw them into the cross arm. I will buy another when needed.

Came a day early (yay!) and was able to setup in about 20 mins. Needed a phillips head screwdriver (everyone has the plus shaped ended one around). I was impressed by what I interpreted as sturdy and thick metal, particularly in the tripod portion of the stands. Came with an extra bag of hardware too. I will be figuring out something to secure where the two trusses come together in the middle because the connectors there are plastic. I think I will get a tube of ridged pvc a tiny bit smaller in diameter than the truss pieces and slip it in one side of the trussing before I put the two trussing portions together to prevent flex in the center. I also thought using the metal clamp part of my laser and two garage c clamps on either side of the t connectors could work. I have my first gig at a local school in a few days, so after that I will post how it preformed. So far a happy customer!

I am a DJ, and I had purchased a stand similar to this a while back, however it broke at the base where it tightens. This stand is very similar, however it seems to be an upgraded version from the one I had previously. The tightening screws are much better quality. It has safety pins in two different locations for stability, and is very good quality for the money. I am now going to purchase a second one. Highly recommend this stand for any number of applications, it’s quite versatile.

Excellent Product. Well made. I used it with a single quite heave strobe light. The stand was stable without the additional tethering for safety reasons.

Pied costaud et fiable, sans compter le nombre d'accroches (9) qui permet plus de choix d'ancrage (et donc la possibilité de certaines rotations d'éléments par rapport à d'autres).
