I was torn between giving this a 5 or a 4 star review. But since they made no statement of being a professional grade slicer, this appliance, in a price to performance analysis, clearly deserves a 5 star review. It's not a professional slicer. Yet for home usage, it performs above others I have used in my 67 years. So far, I've used it to cut charcuterie of meats & cheese, plus artisan breads. Meats and cheeses it did effortlessly, and the quality of the cut was much the same as in any butcher shop. The harder crusts of some drier bread did slow the blade down slightly. But here too, a clean cut. Size of bread loaf could become a problem for some 1lb (plus) round loaves. But, half pound round and oval 1lb are not a problem. So, it really comes down to what you want to use it for. If you want to use it for butchering (and cutting bones) it would be better to go with a 5x to 10x more expensive professional grade cutter. If you want to have it for home usage, it's spot on, and at a good price for the quality and performance it delivers.

My last food slicer lasted well over 30 years. This one, hopefully, will last just as long. Easy to use, easy to adjust for just the right thickness of slices. Even with my meat mostly frozen, the slicer had no problem getting through the meat.If you're considering a meat slicer, this is one to look at. The only sticking point was the ease of cleaning. More of the machine should be easy to disassemble so the user can get every little bit of meat out of the housing.

This does the job it was made for and with the reviews I made the purchase... It does not feel like high quality and is light, which I guess why its intended for home use. It had issue cutting a stick salomi right out of the box, cuts bread well though. Have not tried any meats per say yet as we buy our lunch meat from the deli sliced... the thickness options are odd in that the lowest smallest slice is so thin cant think of a purpose and the largest lice is not all that large.Overal satisfied with its function....might spend more if there was more intended use.

Not for heavy duty use, but works great for our family. My husband uses a lot and is happy. Price was the best!

It's just ok. We had a. Better one that was much easier till it broke. This one does get the job done. But it take two people to work it. One to work it and one to hold it. It just never gets the meat sliced thin enough without shedding it. This one does not come apart to clean so it .makes it a bit hard to clean up. So basically nothing is easy on this machine. I guess u get what u pay for. We picked it up really cheap. Do ur homework. It does work so if u don't mind having help working it and don't use it much it would probably be a great machine for you.

I've been wanting a meat slicer for a while now. I chose the Chefman because it had good reviews. The commercial slicers are ridiculously expensive! So far we're happy with it. It's a good weight, so hopefully that means it's sturdy. It has performed well so far. The speed is ok. It seems easy to adjust the thickness of the slices. The blades are sharp and seem easy to remove to wash it after use. I love that it has many slicing options. I'm going to try slicing bread with it too.

The motor will burn up with very little use. The warranty is the same as no warranty...It says there is one but try to use it. If you want something to last, this is not it. So I had mine for 5 months, used it about 4 times a month, about 15 minutes each time. Sliced for about 3 minutes and then rested while I prepped what I sliced. Then it made a squealing sound and smoke started coming out of the machine. I believe the motor burnt up. I took it apart and the wings look like they broke off somehow. Went through the steps for the warranty to no avail. Anyway, it slices thin but crooked and that was okay for my purposes.Things to consider...If you are looking for something, short time with little use, this is it. The price is right and you can probably buy another and still be cheaper than buying one that will last. However, if you want something to last with an honorable warranty, pass on this one.All I did was add the cost of this to a much better slicer when I should have just purchased a better one in the first place…just saying.Warranty response: Thank you for filing a case withChefman Support!We're happy to help you with every step of your culinary journey. I bought this slicer in early August. Worked great and looked really nice!!! Then in October after using it about a dozen times I saw smoke coming from inside the unit. Unplugged it and and it resolved. The next time I used it after about 2 minutes I smelled what seemed to be something electrical burning and the plastic over the motor was too hot to touch. I reached out to customer service and they got back to me right away to gather more information on what was happening. Of course it was well outside the 30 day return window so I did not have a lot of hope of any positive resolution. I was SHOCKED at what transpired with this company. As I stated they got back to me quickly to gather more information. They assigned a case manager (Mine was Debra). And that is the person that deals with the entire issue. No talking to a new person every time!!! (LOVE THAT). She emailed me a PRE PAID return label, I sent the unit back and the return was "approved" (not sure what that means lol). But UPS right now has a new unit in their possession that is expected to be delivered to me on Monday!! I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised I am with the follow through from this company and Debra specifically. KUDO's to them and HER!!!!!!!!!! I have already bookmarked their site for any future kitchen needs. That's how impressed I am with their actions. Needless to say I would highly recommend them!!!! Thank you Chefman!!!!
