This mat is a great idea!!! Our cat usually leaves cat litter all the floor around the litter box. He does his business and then steps out of the litter box and shakes off the extra litter that is stuck on his paws. By the end of the day when I come home, the litter has spread all over the house. After using this mat under the litter box, there is less clean-up for me. This mat catches the extra litter outside of the litter box. There is less litter being tracked around the house. Clean-up is easy! The mat empties like a large envelope. Litter falls through the top-side which is like a grating. Litter sits on the inside bottom. Just lift, open May and empty litter back into box. Works very well! Highly recommend!

My wife and I have a cat (named Mia) that uses one of those robotic self-cleaning litter boxes. It works great, but when Mia steps out of it after doing her business, she invariably drags some of the litter out of the box and onto the floor. Wow, wouldn't it be great if she had a floor mat to wipe her paws on after exiting the box? Well, now she does! This Citylife mat is a cut above ordinary litter mat, in that it has a dual-layer design. The top layer has a honeycomb texture that helps "encourage" the litter to fall from Mia's paws as she walks on it, through the honeycombs and down to the solid layer below. Cleanup is easy also - no need to drag out the vacuum cleaner or dust pan and brush: simply pick up the mat, squeeze the sides together to open the "pocket", and dump the litter back into the litter box.The mat is large enough that we can put the entire litter box on the mat and still have a fair amount of stepping space left over. We are experimenting with the optimal amount of open space on the mat, though. If it isn't enough the way we have it now then we will pull it forward as needed and have PART of the box on the mat with the rest directly on the floor. The only issue I have with the mat is the fact that it came folded tightly into quarters, which left some serious creases in the material. Hopefully it will "relax" with time so it lays flat. If not, I may try to lay it on the ground outside in the bright sunshine to help the material soften up and flatten out. Other than that, it's a great product!

I've always wanted to try one of these mats, so I was excited to be able to order one to try out. The mat is a nice size and big enough to fit our litterbox on, with overhang to catch debris. Our cat doesn't make the biggest mess, but it is annoying to step on random bits of litter when it happens to get out of the box. This mat works to help catch those loose bits of litter so it doesn't end up getting walked on. I've noticed a real reduction in the amount of litter bits that end up on the floor, so clearly the mat is doing it's job on capturing and holding on to the litter. I did not have issues with my mat being bent or folded in shipping too badly, but I also have my litterbox situated on it in a way that holds it down well. I have not picked the mat up to dump the caught litter yet, but I can only imagine how much is inside of it already since setting it up. This mat is a game changer and well worth the price!

Since the mat was shipped folded, it won't lay entirely flat, which is unfortunate. It catches the litter well, and I like that you can pour it from the mat into the trash. It is a game changer for easy litter cleanup.

I have a cat that tracks litter outside the box, so I needed a quick and easy way to catch and dispose of it. This mat helps by trapping litter through the small holes in its foam upper layer, making it easy to dump. However, the mat never lays flat due to creases from shipping. Despite multiple attempts to flatten it, including using heavy objects in the sun, it still looks uneven. It also feels somewhat cheap, and I’m doubtful it will last long before the foam gets damaged or grimy from washing.Although I received this product for free, I ask myself, "Is it worth the money?" Yes and no.It works fine in a space where appearance doesn't matter. But if aesthetics are important, you might want to look elsewhere. It solves the problem functionally but lacks in form. Given its lower price, I didn’t expect much, but I feel the main product image is a bit idealized compared to reality. My final verdict? It works for now, but I do not expect this to be the last litter mat I will buy and will likely replace with something different.

Anyone who has a cat with a cat litter box knows the monstrosity that is walking across cat litter. The feeling is just awful and it seems to track no matter what you do. This is the one mat I’ve found that actually catches the litter and holds it in place so it can’t be strewn even further in the future.

I like the double layer design as it is significantly easier to clean/remove litter dust that other models. It's a good size that's larger than a standard litter box, so it catches more of the litter around the outside of the box.I was disappointed in how it was packed and shipped - it was folded in half, wrapped in a shipping bag and taped up... and then put into a box. I had to use the jaws of life to extricate it from the excessive packaging. It's been a few weeks and it's still not fully laying flat due to being folded, but otherwise the product itself is good.

This is a nice, large litter mat which works well under the large size litter box my cats use. The top is smooth and soft enough that it is more cat-friendly than my previous litter-trapping mat that had a more prickly artificial-turf feel to it. The double layer design is great – you don’t have to vacuum the litter out or shake it to try to dislodge the litter. This design allows you to fold it a bit and just pour the litter back into the box from the inside layer. It’s thin enough that it won’t make the litter-box lopsided if you pull it out farther and it doesn’t go under the whole box. (How much you leave sticking out front beyond the box is definitely dependent the individual cats using the box! You want them to walk across it to get loose litter off their paws, not step over it.)
