These clarinet cushions are about the same thickness as others I have been using, maybe slightly thinner. I tend to be hard on cushions, wearing holes in them with my teeth on the mouthpiece, so it's great that these come with 16 cushions. These are slightly smaller than the brand I've used before, and I think I prefer a rounded bottom edge instead of a straight edge, as these are, but that's just personal preference because I think the rounded bottom looks nicer. That said, they are perfectly functional, prevent, slipping, and the adhesive seems to hold up well.

Nice Cushions for the money.

As it says in the headline, this product is not quality level for professional use. The adhesive is poor and the pad peels or slides after about an hour of playing. I don't have any returnable pads as i need to bare with them until I get good replacements. Maury Finney(use is on TheoWanne tenor Sax mouthpiece)

My two upper front teeth are quite rough on clarinet and saxophone mouthpieces because of chipping them as a kid. My dentist did smooth them somewhat, but I can quickly ruin a mouthpiece if I don't put on a pad. These pads are somewhat thinner than others I have used, but I can't say that is bad or good. If you need the pads for vibration isolation, then you may want to get a thicker brand. For me, these work just fine as they protect the mouthpiece, are comfortable and they keep the mouthpiece from slipping. The listing shows them as 0.3 mm, but I measured them and the clear ones were 0.39 mm and the black ones were 0.43 mm. The diagram on the package shows a slightly different shape for clarinet compared to saxophone pads. I couldn't see the difference and can't tell the difference on the mouthpieces.

I've never used a mouthpiece cushion before, so I really didn't know what to expect. I've been playing the clarinet for decades and I have to say this changes the mouthpiece-to-mouth feedback, and for me, I think for the better. Now, the ones I got are only a fraction of a millimeter in thickness but they do change the way you feel the mouthpiece and reed vibrations. This could be good for some and not for others. But for a song, you can try them out for yourself and see if they enhance your playing and technique in a positive way. I'm happy I test-drove these. I feel they have a positive effect on the way I play.

I got these mouthpiece cushions for my son. He plays the clarinet and sometimes it bothers his teeth when playing. I was hoping these cushions would help him, but he said they dont really do that much to help. Sadness.

According to their packaging, the sax cushions are a different shape and size. I received only clarinet cushions. However, depending on the sax you play, they may work. I play clarinet and have so for many years. I have used a cushion for most of that time on my mouthpiece. The one I had seemed to be getting old and not so cushy anymore so I thought I would try these. According to the packaging there are different thicknesses available, but I believe these are the thinnest ones. They are thinner than the cushion I had previously so was skeptical about putting them on. At first I put one over my old one because I was concerned I would not be able to put the thicker older one back on if I didn't like this thin one. However, that was too thick. Millimeters matter on a mouthpiece. So I took off all the cushion and put one of these on by itself. So far it is doing the job. My teeth are on something soft and I have full access to the mouthpiece without too much being there. I will keep playing to see how it goes down the line. There are both black and clear which I believe the only difference is the color. My mouth piece is black so I went with that. I gave these 4 stars on account of the misleading description that seems to indicate you will get some of each clarinet and sax cushions. I lucked out because I play clarinet. The sax player may be disappointed.

Each mouthpiece pad only stays on the mouthpiece for 30 minutes. After that, it will start to slide around and fall off. Adhesive is not strong at all.
