Need to change my radiator hose and decided to buy these clamps along with it. So far they look like a good and secure fit for my new radiator hose. I tested each one's recoilability as well and so far all 5 of them recoiled with no cracks, breaks, or change in original shape. With some decent pliers or vise grips, you can get these on quite easily. My only complaint is the price, but this was the only reputable hose clamp product I can find, and Im not trying to use worm/screw clamps since those are known to loosen and cause fluid leaks over time. But you get what you pay for I guess. They fit perfectly and hold very well.

used on a 2003 lexus es300 radiator hose with separate tool , very very hard to open had to bend tabs in to get onto hose but when i was using worm clamps they kept braking my hose these allow alittle flex to help not gash into hose , would definitely recommend been 3 months when the basic worm clamps failed within 3 days .

These ended up being a little too small. However, the quality appears good and I will save them for another application.

I had read other reviewers had to cut the tabs off. Did I do this prior to install? Nope. Redo. Once I did, they worked like a charm….Minus one star for the tabs. Not even sure what purpose they serve….

When my local parts store didnt have good quality clamps I came here and ordered these. They worked perfectly and definitely has better tension than the "door man"

Strong clamps. I agree with other who say these can be difficult to work with. But these spring clamps do a better job of clamping the hose to the neck of the radiator and engine when compared to the worm drive clamps. I read some where else that the spring clamps are better at it. I was getting a slight leak with the worm drive clamps. Not a lot but definitely a little bit of coolant was leaking out. I borrowed a spring clamp tool from a friend to put these on. It made it very easy to put on these clamps. It held the clamps in position until I slipped the clamp into position. I can imagine how difficult it would have been if I had to squeeze the clamp open with a slip joint pliers while trying to get it into correct mounting position. It went on my 1997 4Runner with the 3.4L V-6.

These clamps seem sturdy, but were too small to fit my Subaru radiator hoses. I even cut the little tongue so they open all the way, and it was still not enough.

This clamp will fit a hose with a 1-3/4" OD but just barely. It opens to a max of basically, exactly 1-3/4" There is a tab that could be ground off that could allow it to open a bit more. (See photo) You might want to wear safety glasses in case it gets away from you. lol. So on my 1-3/4" OD hose on a plastic radiator fitting it barely went on, and that was with a very small flange and ample room to work. I didn't even try on the engine end of the hose where there was a larger metal flange. The only way you might get that to work is to have the clamp in possition over the fitting so as you slide the hose on it goes over the flange and then into the clamp. You would be at the absolute limit unless you tried the afore mentioned grinding. As far as the clamp goes in general, they are awesome and provide good even and constant clamping even if your hose softens etc. over time. I don't know why these are so hard to find. They cost way too much for what they are. But I couldn't find them anywhere else.
