It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It doesn't catch 100% of the junk if the bit is too long, but as long as you are careful about keeping the shroud near the work piece then it's extremely efficient. The transparent material makes it easy to see any potential clogs. I was afraid that the magnets would not hold well, but they have been fantastic so far. Highly recommended.

The good news is that it is not made out of cheap plastic. I installed it on my twotree cnc with no problem

This dust shoe is made from a hard plastic. It feels sturdy, but the hard plastic feels brittle so care need to be taken so it doesn't receive any impacts during installation or operation. The size of the collar and the port are as described which corresponds to the typical size of smaller spindles. The magnetic construction does make installation easier by breaking it up into steps. So far the magnets have been holding the components together and have not caused any issues. Overall this pairs well with a small desktop CNC mill as long as your spindle matches the 52 mm diameter and you have a compatible hose connection for your shop vacuum.

My husband told me he really wanted this dust shoe, which cleverly significantly reduces the dust thrown off a CNC machine. He was excited to get it and noted it is well made and surely would do a good job of dust reduction. Alas, he failed to measure his machine, which is 37MM. It will not fit that machine without significant modification, our bad. He did experiment with it for an evening and may do the modification if time permits. Our apologies for not being able to provide an in depth review, but my husband is confident if you have a 45mm machine this is a very good dust shoe choice!

Website says “ suitable for 45mm … within ±2mm†well mine is 45.5mm and it does NOT fit. The plastic material is so rigid that it is very difficult fit anything that isn’t 45mm EXACTLY. Once it was finally attached, the lower pieces wouldn’t fit magnetically to the top piece as because it was so distorted from stretching that extra 0.5mm.

This didn't end up fitting my Genmitsu 4040 PRO CNC spindle however I plan to just 3d print a portion that will allow it to fit so I am happy with this attachment.Features that I Like:- magnetic locking/unlocking for quick removal/attachment- clear case for quick inspection of flow- bristles capture most of dustCons:- didn't fit my SpindleOverall I like this attachment and I do plan to use with my 4040 pro machine
