First roast went well. I was really impressed but the second one the motor died and it started burning. Nearly caught on fire. I would give it a shot if you want to gamble with a good product when it worked. If it would have stayed working well it would have gotten 5 stars. I did not order a replacement to reassess as I will be getting something different, I am not much of a gambler.

The first one had a bad heating element.The second one last 27 days and the fan failed while roasting. There are no safety devices to sense a fan failure so this causes a fire in the roaster.

I've owned 2 of the more expensive Fresh Roast SR's. I bought this to replace a fresh roast that broke after 3 months of use.I have to say, this roaster is as good or BETTER than the Fresh Roasts I've owned.Value is great! Its half the price of the SR.Size is good. It holds more beans the the SR.Yes, the fan is loud, but it's comparable to the SR.Very easy to use. Easy to clean. Heat, fan, and time levels are adjustable.I'm loving this roaster.

Started off good, watched video's, took the tips--learned it cannot be used inside unless you like a house full of coffee smoke and you don't have smoke detectors. 1st several batches I used 50 grams, last batch I jumped to 100 G. Not sure if the coffee couldn't rotate with that much or the thermostat failed high--either way the coffee caught on fire and burned up the roaster. I'm going to bite the bullet and get a higher quality unit

I am very pleased with the quality of this product. It is very well-made, reasonably-priced, and easy to use. My first batch of roasted beans came out perfect!
