I had another name-brand pepper grinder that only worked part of the time that I suffered through for many years. Until I reached my breaking point and decided I wanted to be fancy and get a pepper grinder that worked ALL of the time. And this is it! The Cole & Mason grinder was very easy to fill up with my own pepper corns, and worked immediately with the first grind. You can adjust the grind level simply by loosening the top knob. I happily threw my old one in the trash and am now rejoicing in my ability to have reliable, freshly ground pepper whenever I'd like.

This salt mill is very easy to use. There is one screw knob at the top that holds the top of the mill on and is what you use to adjust if you want a coarser or finer grind for your salt. It holds the position perfectly for me so I don't have to worry about differences each time that I grind. The shaker itself also looks simple and minimalistic and I appreciate that about it. I have mine set for a pretty fine grind and it's very easy to use. The design is simple but very thoughful and the salt mill feels very well made.What I liked about it: Simple and thoughful design works well.What I didn't like: No negatives found.Overall, I recommend this salt mill!

This is a nice looking salt/pepper grinder. I like how it looks enough, so that I was disappointed in the quality and performance, because I would have liked to get another one to make a set.It's not heavy, it feels cheaply made, not like others I've seen in person from this brand.We have a grinder set on our table, and that is how we use salt and pepper at the table, so we are very familiar with how a grinder should perform. We didn't like how this grinder performed. It was easy enough to load, but adjusting the grind on the salt (we used salt, but it's the same grinder for pepper), it didn't adjust the grind with ease. The grind is adjusted by turning the little knob at the top of the grinder, but unfortunately when you turn it to adjust to a looser grind, it makes the whole grinder feel like it's coming apart, because. . . that is the way you also take the grinder apart. Having the same knob for both purposes doesn't work well. I wouldn't recommend it, especially at this price point.

This Cole and Mason brand is absolutely iconic for quality and being practically the inventor of the salt/pepper grinders and are sold at a particular well known high end kitchen store that starts with a “W and Sâ€â€¦! Great quality on the heavy duty acrylic and stainless sections and you just rotate the small top to adjust grind size and for adding the salt crystals or peppercorns in!

This got bagged in just a bubble envelope so it came apart and got a bit scuffed on its way here. Wasn't a good start.I assembled it and wasn't very impressed with the fit. The screw on top simultaneously holds the whole thing together and acts as the tension adjustment for turning the grinder. So either it's a bit wobbly on top and easy to grind, or tightly fit but difficult to grind.The grinder's teeth are surprisingly good for being plastic. I wish they were metal though.

The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with a cover for the bottom. After grinding, there's still some pepper underneath and it seems to get all over the countertop when not in use. I'll have to find a small dish to place it on. You can change the grind from fine to coarse by twisting the small knob on the top. Other than that, it's a very nice looking grinder. HOPE THIS HELPS!

Works as expected. Nice feel to them. Heavy but not too heavy. I got this one and the wood grain pepper shaker and they look good together.

I normally use wood and sometimes electric, pepper mills but I have to say this lucite and brushed silver one is far cooler than I expected. It is a good size, not needing to be refilled too often but not awkwardly large either. It grinds nicely and looks good in the kitchen near the stove. A winner, rom a reputable maker.
