Just arrived, but from initial inspection it appears superior to older units I have worked with and at a reasonable price.

The cable is very tight on the spool. Was very difficult it pull the cable out for use! Had to lubricate it first! Then pull like hell and inch it out! Once done it worked as I needed.

Worked very well to keep tension on some trees that I had to cut. Helped them to fall exactly where I wanted.

This is a sturdy & strong come-along. Easy to operate. Cable is strong. I expect this unit to last a long, long time! RECOMMEND!

I like how this come-along works and that it is made with adequate components. The hooks and pulley are adequate, the safety catch on the hook has adequate spring tension, and the steel cable has a tight braid with a smooth surface. The release operates smoothly. Nylock nuts were used on this come-along, which will prevent the nuts from loosening. When ratcheting, the come-along operates how you would expect it to.I attached the come-along to my truck’s bumper to test and evaluate the components and function of this come-along. My test, however, did not involve the actual pulling of a vehicle. Even so, I have the confidence that this come along will work adequately for pulling a vehicle out of sand or mud.My one criticism is the plastic grip on the handle. It’s alright, but the plastic is thin and not heavy-duty or durable and will likely not be long-lasting.

Broke on the first use. Tried to fix it and taking it apart was a nightmare. I trashed it.

Everything about this winch is solid and strong. I was impressed with just how beefy this was. The cable is thick and strong. The hooks are big, solid and work perfectly. This has a nice long handle that will give you lots of torque when using this.Because the cable is so thick I did self-create one issue. I unhooked the end of the cable from the unit and slid the pully hook to the end, so I could store this easily. I then cranked up the excess cable into the reel without any tension causing it to be loose and overfilled and jam. It took some doing to pull the cable free again. This was a problem I created. Word to the wise is not to try to get all the cable wound into the reel unless you have tension on the cable, so it seats properly, or just leave it hooked as it came in the box.I will be adding some lubricant to the reel and inner mechanism to prevent this issue in the future. Overall, my impression of this “Come Along Winch†is very good. This is a strong and quality piece of equipment that will come in very handy if you need this for heavy work.
