Awesome took for small field jobs, would use the larger one for shop/larger jobs. Clamps nicely, adjusts easily, and is accurate. Excellent build quality and materials. Good price.

It is sturdy when clamp to the table. I have only used twice and is working as it should. Will provide more feedback later one because want to wait if this will last for a while.

Nice all metal jig for doing exactly what it says it's meant for. Included bit is of decent quality too! Clamps securely, easy to set up. Nice addition to the workshop. Great deal at less than $35.

I have a becktop machine that makes these holes that costs a lot more than this simple setup. It's designed for production so you can make repeated holes the same distance and depth in a fraction of the amount of time. The problem is it lives on a shelf and is pretty heavy. For one or two holes it's not very practical. With this simple jig you can get very good results. For the guy who doesn't need to make a lot of pockets for eurohinges it's a good option. It's build very nicely. It uses a needle bearing, not a brass bushing where the bit spins inside the jig. As long as it doesn't get wet and rust the bearing should be good for life. Brass sooner or later would wear out. It does take a bit of effort to get the jig clamped exactly where you want it though. You have to set up both the stop that rests against the side of the door and the stop to control how deep the bit goes into the door. There are a few minor things that could be better though. The bit stop collet uses a set screw that tightens against the bit's shaft. I have had these slip before. There's another style that is split and has a screw that draws to split closed clamping onto the shaft. They work much better in my opinion. They are also easier to make fine adjustments to dial in the depth. The next would be an arm so you can have a stop on the top or bottom of the door to make pockets in multiple doors at the same height. It wouldn't need to be too fancy. Third, a case of some sort. Once you do get the stop set for the bit's depth you are more than likely to want to leave it set up. Since you can't remove the bit without removing the collar having a case where you could leave it set up would be nice. The final question is (and I didn't have an extra bit to test it) what happens when the bit needs replacing? Is the shaft size a standard size or is it unique. I'm guessing, since the diameter is, is it's metric. If the replacement bit's shaft is a different diameter the jig is useless. This jig is well built so I would expect it to last for decades. Hopefully when the time comes to buy a new bit it'll work with the jig.

I've put this to use on our bathroom remodel and it has worked for that project building all the cabinets. After a few test holes, I jumped right in and found this very easy to use.All metal construction with bearings (not bushings) should allow this to last for many projects in the future which is good because I have another bathroom and an entire kitchen to do next.Overall for the money, this seems to be a good value for a well-built tool.

Worked as advertised. Would have given it four stars if the clamp held tighter. A bit difficult to secure with the current mechanism. But, with a spacer between the door and jig, worked ok.
