Material is a little thin but once it is installed there shouldn't be any need to touch it. Perfect fit for Nest thermostat. Easy to install and definitely easier than patching holes in your wall or if your wiring box is an odd shape.Glad I didn't pay for OEM google product as I think this does the job just a well.

My original thermostat was painted around. So when I installed the nest, unpainted wall showed. This installs easily, fits perfectly, and the curved corners complement the round thermostat nicely. Zero complaints.

If the holes are visible from other thermostats this covers them. However it is not necessary otherwise. I took mine off and like the looks of just the nest better.
