This works as intended, the holes are clean-cut, but it would be better if it was slimmer and taller. For direct fire, the beast is a bit of a nightmare.

Great kettle for the money. For home brewers its a perfect size and I can already tell this will be a perfect replacement for a kettle I had for over 10+ years that wasn't as solid as this one... Fair thickness on the bottom, solid construction. WASH! Lots of grease, more than i've seen with other kettles. Does not have gallon markers- otherwise this would be a 5 star kettle for the price.
