I really like this long thermometer it works to accurately check the temperature of my home made beer. My kettle has a thermometer installed and this thermometer matches the temperature exactly. It is easy to check temps in large pots due to its length, also has a clip to attach to the pot. Great item priced well. Recommended.

You'll need to calibrate it before first use, but it works great otherwise. Seems to hold up well, and reads temperature accurately (once it's been calibrated!).A lot of negative reviews are from people who either didn't read the description about this thermometer being one that you can calibrate or who do not know how to calibrate a thermometer. It's simple. Google how to do it, and you'll be happy you chose a thermometer that you can fine tune the accuracy of.

Love it!!!!!! Great for home brewing. Makes my job MUCH easier. Maintaining the right temperature wall getting your wort is essential. I clip it to the side of the pot I don't have to worry about sticking my hand in there constantly to make sure my temperature still good

This is my second of these thermometers. My first one fogged up and I wasn't able to dry it out. I love the fact that if it falls out of calibration, it can be adjusted via the nut on the back of the face.

I used this to monitor scald water temperature for chicken processing. Unfortunately, moisture from the water condensed inside the thermometer, making it hard to read during processing. Without moisture, the scale is fairly easy to read. The pot grip can be squeezed to move it along the shaft, which I found helpful. However, with the enamel pot I was using, the thermometer did not stay firmly mounted when dunking. This was a little annoying.

The temperature gauge and needle rotated independently. I was unable to evaluate accuracy. As such sturdiness was very poor thus value for money is questionable.
