I got the black plastic version. It was obvious that it was a 3D printed part. A surface that interfaces with the grinder is poorly formed. (Just the one I was sent?) The cover fit the cup properly, but did not snap/lock into place in the grinder like the original. Hence the cup vibrated out of position when grinding the coffee and allowed grounds to leak out. I sent it back and ordered one from OXO which was a bit more costly and includes a new cup.

My original cap and I repaired it, and it cracked in another spot, so I threw it away. That caused the cup to fail to snap in place as it had before. Then I discovered this lid, and my problems had gone away. However, your experience may vary. The manufacturer included a range of cautions and restrictions regarding its use. This is because the product has been 3D printed. It is made with opaque charcoal-gray plastic, which is much more heat-sensitive than the original plastic. For that reason, it is not dishwasher safe. All the other cautions were directly related to this same issue. Since I never put my lid in the dishwasher this was not a problem for me. I was just glad to have a new lid so the cup stays in place.

This lid fits perfectly on the metal cup. Perfect replacement for the cheaply made lid that came with Oxo coffee grinder. This lid is worth the price.

This didn't fit my OXO grinder although the description said it would. Returned with no problem.
