Honestly the design and use of this tool is a life saver. No more trying to guess what tension I am at with my hand or doing the old belt twist. Now you get a decent idea of where you are at without breaking the bank.

This is a very simple device. Belt tension on mowers and garden tractors is not a very precise science, so don't expect more than ballpark estimations of tension even with the $150-$350 gauge. This tool does the job satisfactorily with just a careful finger touch, perhaps several of them to get an approximate average of readings. Directions in the box were adequate.To test it I hung a long broken 5/8 inch wide V belt from a truss in the barn and measured belt tension using 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 pounds of weight hanging at the bottom end, measured with a large accurate postage scale. With just a little bit of index finger practice the little device was within +/- about 3 pounds for each. That is certainly close enough for most backyard mechanics for their mowers and garden tractors -- much better than the thumb pressure test! Use the mower/tractor specs as a guide for recommended tension.If all the pulley bearings are good and pulleys are not damaged, it doesn't matter where on the belt the tension is measured as long as there is at least an 8 inch span between pulleys and you measure near the middle of the span.

The gauge works as intended to measure the tension of my bicycle belt but the finger band broke on the very first use. The rubber piece is very fragile. The tool is still functional but too bad the finger support is broken.

Was able to grab this version vs using a specific model which cost more and was most likely a marketing gimic and does the same thing. If you have never used something like this before it takes a little bit of getting use to but straight forward.

Upon installing a new serpentine belt on my 2013 Corolla, I utilized this gauge to accurately test and adjust it to the specified tension. I am now able to determine the tension of the belt without any guesswork.

I use this to adjust the Gates belt on my Priority Current bicycle, and previously used on on a Zero electric motorcycle. There is a free app that can measure the tension of a plucked belt from the sound, but the Krikit tool is MUCH more consistent and precise. There are different versions, including a much more expensive one branded specifically for e-bikes, but as long as it has the right range it will work.

Bought a new mower preassembled at dealer got home checked fluids started it up drove it around back engaged the blade go about a foot belt pops off reinstall instantly pops back off. Manual gives part number for another belt tension tool costing just under $200 and a week out, saw this for just over $20 and next day. Belt wasn't even registering on tool dealer obviously didn't even try to tension. Using this tool had belt properly adjusted in under a minute mowed for 4 hour not one problem from belt.

lo use para apriete de mi tacoma 3.4 me ayudo por que siempre las apretaba al tanteo con este las deje a 80 a 85 lb y quedo muy bien las 3 bandas si lo recomiendo claro que una de las badas me costo por el poco espacio pero repeti 5 veces el proceso para esta seguro, en general es buena herramienta sabiendola usar.

Small tool to give assurances that drive belts are correctly installed and more importantly not over tightened. Does the job.
