Some sort of external thermostat should be required for every refrigerator or freezer. But virtually every unit made that I’ve ever seen, over my many decades of life, didn’t have one.After watching a YouTube video, I was inspired to give my old garage refrigerator a sort of steam-punk look. Since steam-punk includes lots of dials and such, what could be more natural than a genuine, big dial thermometer on the outside? A bit tricky cutting the hole, but that’s what Dremels are for—little cutting projects . Took a bit of doing, but it looks fine and works fine. There’s a nice big ridge around the outside of the thermometer, which completely hides all the weird “roundish†cutting I had to do in the door.Next comes repainting, and giving it the full steam-punk makeover. Cool!

Not sure how accurate it is exactly, it has a bit of a difference between the thermometer in my freezer at very low temperatures, but i don't know if that's because it's wrong or just because there's a temperature gradient in there.

Thermometer was incorrectly calibrated from factory. Maybe a little QA before you ship?
