We have several areas protected by charged fences. Each with its own charger. My main nursery area is protected from deer and feral hogs by a 12 Joule fence. This â€HEVIDUBANA Pure Copper Ground Rod, Portable Plug Grounding Rod Kit with 50ft Copper Wire & Alligator Clip for Electric Fences†is used on that charger. It absolutely requires a good ground to protect my nursery. So far, no incursions.The rod is 2 parts, portable and includes the hookup wire. The rod seems to be solid copper, and 24 inches long. It installed pretty easily. I use a hammer drill with a grounding rod adapter to drive all my ground rods. It makes the job super easy.Good value for the package.

The copper alloy rod is solid and inserts easily into non-dense soil. The other end is an alligator clip which will create a ground circuit to your electronics in seconds. There is no real way to prevent oxidation to the copper alloy especially if it is inserted into raw soil for any length of time so routine de-oxydation to the alloy core is a good idea. The oxygen free copper wire is tin coated and is very lengthy. It's a great choice to accommodate this copper alloy grounding rod and at 50 feet it should be long enough for almost everything you could possibly use this for. Also the copper grounding rod is of a high quality and is very long at 2 whole feet which is definitely long enough to get a ground connection. So for thirty bucks it's a great deal.

This copper ground rod kit comes with a 24inch solid rod of copper (2 pieces that screw together).One end is sharp so you can hammer it into the ground. The copper didn’t buckle or bend when hammering it in. It’s solid!The 50ft of copper wire gives enough length to run the wire wherever you need it. One end plugs into the copper rod, while the other end is comprised of a solid copper alligator clip.I’m using this to ground a bedsheet I have, but the bed sheet comes with a cord that needs to plug into a grounding outlet. I don’t have this as we’re living off grid without conventional power. So I hammered the copperr rod outside my tent, and ran the wire through a small zipper hold in my tent, so I could plug the wire into the copper rod. The alligator clip is now attached to the cord that plugs into my grounding mat.Couldn’t have asked for a better solution.This is worth every penny.Very pleased.

Let’s clear this up: this “copper alloy†ground rod is brass, which isn’t ideal for long-term grounding use. Brass, being copper and zinc, has issues with zinc migrating to the surface, leading to corrosion and performance degradation—especially outdoors or in humid environments. Essentially, it’s unsuitable for most permanent grounding needs.However, for temporary setups like Ham radio field days, it could be useful. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to clean the surface periodically (maybe with steel wool) to maintain conductivity. If your application is short-term, this rod could work, but for anything longer-lasting, there are better options available.

Most portable generators are supposed to be grounded, but few rarely are. For $30 this can solve that problem provided you usually use the generator in the same place, or have a shovel you can use to dig this out of the ground when you're done using it (or you could potentially pull it out if you don't pound it in too far, but that reduces its efficacy somewhat...). The cord is a decent length and the pure copper rod that I got seems to be as described. I'd recommend it if you don't want to go buy a copper rod and some wire to DIY one of these for less.

I am using this for my portable electric fence it’s much easier to use than the traditional ground rods. For starters it’s much smaller and easier to drive into the ground which is exceptionally helpful in rockier soils. The alligator clip is so much more convenient to attach it to the fence charger. I also like that it screws together and is easier to transport and store with the smaller size. You also don’t have to deal with the grounding rod clams. I have always had a hard time getting the wire just right and then having to get a screw driver to tighten it isn’t as convenient. This just inserts right into the top of the rod and has a nice long cord. I keep it coiled up and out of the way. It is helpful to have the longer cord so I can put it out of the way and in better ground. I think it’s a really great rod for the price. I am loving the easier to use ground rod. I still pour a bucket of water in the ground to make sure it’s moist. I honestly have no complaints and nothing but positives. It seems well made and I’m sure will last a long time.

Have a farm store off the electrical grid, so I have a portable generator running when it's open. Had someone ask me if I had a ground on the generator, which I didn't... Actually didn't realize that I needed, or should have one! Was then told about a portable one, that I can move with the generator if and when I move it to another spot, or use it elsewhere. This is great as I don't have to pound down an 8' copper rod into the ground, to just have to 'lose' it when I move the generator. This is great in that I can pull it up and move it to the new spot for the generator. I am also looking forward to taking it with me when I go RV'ing... Now I can claim (at least for my generator), that I'm more safe than sorry!!
