I've put a few hundred miles on this bag now, so I'm updating my review - still 5 stars, but I can speak to this bag better now that I've used it a bit. Very nice medium-sized tank bag - for my purposes (mainly day trips), not too big, not too small. Comes with a rain cover which has a clear window in it so you can still see the map in the bag's clear map pocket if you're using paper maps. (The cover takes up most of the front pocket - you could leave rain the cover behind or put it somewhere else if you wanted to use the pocket for something else.) There's a security strap to tether the bag to the bike in case something bad happened, but the magnets are good and strong. (Strong enough to pick up restaurant tableware and accidentally carry it out with you...) I like the way the magnets are polarized the right way so that the flaps tend to snap shut to the bottom of the bag for carrying when you pull it off the bike. My 2009 Concours 14 has a big plastic plate with a tiny glove box on the forward half of the tank, but the magnets are located in such a way that I think all but the front center two are holding, and that's plenty as far as I'm concerned. Nice pockets on the inside, nice lined pocket at the rear for phone or sunglasses, with a hole for earbud wires or maybe even a hydration bag tube. All in all, a really well-designed medium-sized tank bag. This is the 12-liter bag - Cortech makes this bag in 10-liter and 18-liter sizes also. If I ever need more space for longer trips, I may look into getting one of the 18-liter bags too. (Update, I've put several thousand miles on the bag since writing this, plus using it as a manpurse daily, and it's holding up fine - it's really well-made, IMO.)

Bought this to fit on my FJR1300 and it is the perfect size. I got the magnet one because I use it on multiple bikes. The size is just right for day trips or long distance. I am an Ironbutt rider and my stops have to be fairly efferent, this tank bag is just right for the stuff i need to get to quickly and not waste time (paperwork, medications, glasses, gloves, gum/candy, pen). I leave it on all the time because it is just really really handy.Pros: quality material and craftsmanship, good interior organization, hand hold and shoulder strap, very strong magnets with good flap placement.Cons: needs double zipper, would really like to see one waterproof with OUT the rain-fly.***UPDATE***The bag is still the best! I love it and never take it off. The fact that it is not water proof has become a non issue because when I am traveling at highway speeds it stays dry behind the windshield and if I stop the rainfly is quick and easy to apply. I was upset that it wont fit over the center console on my Harley Road King.

I also own the Cortech Super 2.0 18-liter tank bag (strap version, for my BMW G650GS), so I'm aware of the build quality and durability of Cortech products. This bag is essentially the same bag as the 18-liter version, without the zip-open expansion panel. I have the magnetic version, for my Yamaha FZ6, but it also comes in a strap version. The magnets are very strong, and I've never had an instance of the bag slipping even a bit -- very secure (it also has a security strap at the front if you're leery of losing it). Very durable, made of 1680 and 1800 denier material, but with a soft non-slip, non-scratch base. There are numerous internal and external pockets and organizers, and built-in sip-tube/headphone ports. On top is a removeable map pocket, and a stowaway rain cover in a pocket at the front. A really slick feature is a set of hide-away back-pack straps so you can take it with you off the bike. Overall, this (and the 18-liter version) is the best tank bag I have come across. You won't be disappointed.

I ride year round in California. Bikes are garaged at night but in the open at work. I use the rain cover about 3 months straight in the winter else it is exposed. It usually lasts about 2 years plus or minus. I have many bikes and regardless of tank type the strapped version allows me to put it on all bikes. I've used this on an R1200RT, FJR, Tracer, 1090R, and others. When I fuel up I unlock the lower clip and swing up the bag to the right over the handlebar. Quick access and works great. Zipper failed on one or two only, most of the time the plastic viewing window which is USELESS breaks apart and material eventually shreds around zipper. It is not waterproof unless you use the cover it comes with. Good pockets to hold registration, etc. I'll keep buying. If you don't ride much it may last many more years. Constant Cali sun eventually gets to it.

Cortech stuff is always high-quality and this bag is no exception. Everything about it just works, except for the map pocket. It forces you to fold the map into a weird shape and I'm not sure why Cortech made it that way - there is room for a wider pocket. Otherwise, this bag is great, lots of room in the main compartment for the stuff I like to carry and little pockets for doodads. The magnets are very strong and the shape of this bag looks great on my FJR tank. Price is a little higher than other bags, but this piece will last forever.

I have had this bag for several months and love it. At first i strapped it to my tack/speedometer but realized shortly after that it wasnt needed and the magnets were plenty strong. I use it daily on my comumte and usually fit a 2 liter soda and a packed lunch as well as my reflective vest for night driving, all fits very easily. The bag itself seems to sit about 8 inches high but if i really needed to stop by the store and pick a few things up i can easily expand it and add about 5 inches in depth. The back pack feature is neat too, if i do need to go to the store and need my hands free i just set up the back pack straps. It comes with a rain cover but i havent needed it yet. All and all this is a high quality product worth every penny and i highly recomend

Great bag! Magnets are stronger than I expected, build quality is great, and it's easy to just pull it off and you're on your way! 12L is just the right size IMO, any smaller and you would be struggling to fit your lunch in there.

The magnets seem to hold well on my Versys 650. There's not a tonne of storage, but perfect for the essentials, water, extra gloves, wallet, extra keys, charge things while riding. Easily converts to decent little backpack.
