Bought this as a replacement for '98 Polaris Indy 600 XLT. This aluminum one replaced the original plastic one perfectly, which had worn through. The original was held in with a rivet I had to drill out. A little bit of a pain but after removing the old one bolted new one in for easy removal if it has to be replaced again. Rope slides through smoothly, no snags.

These things work great. I was going through guides every year basically. I saw these & jumped on them! Bought 2 to replace both guides on an XLT. The only small issue I found was the mounting screw hole in these wasn't large enough for the stock mounting screw to go through them. No problem, 2 zipties in each mount hole did the trick. You could also just drill the hole slightly bigger. Otherwise, They're great!

Cant install this without breaking out the Dremel tool first. The guide I received has sharp edges inside that I'm afraid will cut and wear my starter rope prematurely.

Excellent upgrade/replacement. I bought one of these for my 94 polaris indy xlt as the original one (made of plastic) wore thru from decades of the pull cord rubbing against it with every pull. I was reluctant to buy this as I was wondering if the aluminum would wear thru the rope, but I did. That being said, I'm very glad I did. My only complaint is the fact that the ad shows several colors, but there was only an option for black. Kind of false advertisement, and I really would have preferred blue or gold like in the picture, but that being said the color doesn't affect the functionality of it. It works excellent, and was an identical replacement to the original junk plastic ones. Best part is, that there was 0 modifications needed for it to work. Simply drill out the rivet for the original plastic one, undo the knot for the pull cord/handle (make sure to use vice grips low on the pull cord down by the recoil so the recoil doesn't suck the whole rope into it), slide the rope out of the old one, thread the pull cord thru the new one and back thru the hood/chassis of sled, put the pull handle back on and tie a knot again (tightly) and then pop it into where the original one was and put a new rivet in. All and all it took me about 20 minutes!
