These pants in size large fit me great and I’m 57 years old, about 5.6 and a half and 123 lbs today at least. My waist is around 28” or 29”. If I measured my hips right they’re around 33.5”.But, I also have very little muscle and my booty is pretty much nonexistent. I’m all wasted away from pancreatic cancer. My very trim 30 year old son in law who is a little shorter than me tried them on and they didn’t work at all because he has muscular legs and has a big old booty. These are a pretty trim cut. I was looking for very thin lightweight pants to wear in the hot humid Arkansas summer and couldn’t find any in adult sizes in town that fit but was able to mail order some Kuhl Deceptr pants in a 28” waist with a 30” inseam that also fit great. They’re $99 though and a fancier looking trim tapered pant, very stretchy. I highly recommend those too but maybe not for a child who would out grow them unless you have money to burn. The shorts these make are great when I unzip the legs but they would probably not work for someone with big muscular thighs and a big booty. I love the trim cut because my skinny legs just look silly sticking out of wide leg shorts. I’m not supposed to get much sun because of the chemo I’m on but I like having the option to turn these into shorts because of course none of my old shorts fit me anymore. I haven’t weighed this much since I was in the 9th grade and losing weight weight so I could wrestle smaller guys at wrestling tournaments.I have these in three colors now and couldn’t be happier with them. Now I don’t have to mow the yard and take care of my pool in lightweight pajama bottoms anymore.I haven’t had them long enough to know how durable they will be. They’re pretty well made but very thin. I’m sure your kids can figure out how to tear them up. That’s what they do. I’m pretty sure these will last me the rest of my life though, considering the fact that they told me months ago I probably only have months to live. I’m grateful to have these pants that let me stay cool and active so I can keep beating the odds as long as I can.

We revelry bought these for my son since he’s a Webelo and needs a new uniform. These are great pants. The are fairly comparable to the ones from the scout shop that my older son wears but at a fraction of the price. The material is thin but it also means it will dry quickly if wet. He will definitely need an under layer when it gets cold. The belt is a very snug fit but it will fit. I love the internal elastic in the pants so that he can wear it without a belt if it’s not for scouts. The pant legs zip off and it’s a perfect fit for shorts.Update: we just bought two more pairs of these (kids keep growing). These are tight fitting style. My kids are like bean poles so these work for them. The elastic actually only cinches up the back of the pants so he still needs a belt. I wish the elastic went through the sides a bit more for a better fit. These do dry really fast and are very lightweight. We have to switch to a different brand in the winter because they are so thin (my kids would freeze).

Comfortable and versatile. I like that the legs have L/R when you remove them.Note these belt loops DO NOT FIT BSA BELT. Otherwise would have given 5 stars as it fits all other needs. Love the adjusting at the waist so she can grow into them more.

These pants are lightweight easy to wear and easily washable. I have to say they seem to run bigger than expected. I ordered one pair, hoping they would last my son a couple of years and they were ginormous! I ordered the size down and still had to take them in in the waist. They worked great for summer Boy Scout camp.

Ordered a few different brands that said they were XL boys size (18-20) and these were the only ones that actually fit our son that is 5’7” 130 lbs. Perfect convertible pants and they look and fit nicely.

I bought these for my boys before our trip to Yellowstone and Glacier. They wore them nearly every day for the trip, and zipped off the legs in afternoons when it got warm. The pants are comfortable and the hidden elastic waist kept them from falling off my oldest who is like a toothpick. The pants did run a little big and I wound up with a size smaller than I originally ordered for all the kids. They are average weight and tall for their age; I ordered the size that matched their ages.

Bought these for my active 6 year old for Scouts. He wore them for a few hikes and meetings. I noticed after the latest wash that there was some bubbling on the fabric (maybe dried too hot?) and there was already thinning of the fabric at one of the knees. Going to try again and make sure it’s dried on very low heat.
