Solid black throughout, with both sides usable. The unique feature of this mounting board is that one side is smooth and the reverse side is textured. Textured side is great for illustration with colored pencil, pastel, and chalk. "All Black" cuts cleanly and is excellent for mounting art and photographic presentations, and model making. Board has a thickness of .050 -.060 inch.

Exactly what I wanted... nice black with a solid black core. Even the packaging was done well, protecting the corners perfectly.
