Let me start with WOW!! So I decided to build my own stealth box in my center console formy 95 Dodge Ram. The box needed to be small and sealed which the volume came out to be 0.35. Started researching shallow subs and the CT Sounds Hydro specs matched perfectly for what I was looking and with only needing 3.27 inch mounting depth.I didn’t need a big subwoofer just a little bass but when I fired this thing up I was floored. A lot of people probably won’t believe this but it actually shakes the truck but it’s all about the setup. I’ve been an audiophile for many years and the CT Sounds Hydro is on the top of my list. Very Very Impressive.

Sounds amazing in my 2019 Silverado paired with the CT Sounds Meso 6.5,s and 6x9,s. Rockford 4 channel on the mids and Rockford Fosgate 1000.2 pushing the sub.

Thought I would try one of these in place of my Skar VD-10. Quality is alright but the VD hits harder, sounded better and takes more power. The CT shallow is decent, but for hits application the Skar VD is a better choice.

My Lexus sc430 had a near silent 8" sub. But this paired with 600 watts (bridged) from a pioneer amp... I can rattle the car.Slight trimming for the basket supports needed with a Dremel, but nothing major. HUGE improvement over stock. I'm looking for newcool bass songs now (I like low synth, not higher bass hits)

Dont really know how to write this because I dont know terminology for subwoofer manufacturing but here goes. I've tried a multitude of subs. This is the first one that meets my sound. This sub right here nailed SQ. FOR MY setup. I am not willing to move mids out of doors. I am not wanting to put some mid bass pods somewhere. Stock locations and stealth for me. The most annoying thing about a sub is when you have bass or bass guitar, then kick drums and drums are busy, a lot of subs dont handle that well, dont spring back in time? Not sure the lingo but it Causes a very muddy transition. most folks just boom it up and hide it I guess. I cut the top off my subs at 145 at 24slope, probably unusual but the door component woofers simply cant get down there. I also like the sub to play boomy modern songs smoothly without needing a knob somewhere. I ask a lot of them and this thing does it. Dont ask me how or why. Couldnt tell you but I tried some pretty expensive subs that didnt do it because I'm running a weird box for stealth. I stared at the design of this sub and thought, well let me just try it. This IS THE SUB I'm keeping. 100 bucks. Cant hardly believe it. Oh, it also handled time alignment really really well. Some of the subs even at the same inches away in dsp didnt seem to move front seat as well. Again, not sure how or why each sub reacted differently.

Sub was previously opened and installed by another customer. If the sub were to be exposed I would have returned it.
