I have used these (unguarded) on a bench grinder for years. I make high quality 6061 Aluminum products for the Aircraft Industry and use this wheel to de-burr all edges and polish cut or machined areas. Makes the part feel and look great in seconds, as well as protecting YOUR hand while making your project. They are a bit expensive but what they do is priceless. They can also be used on steel, but take most of the rough edges off with a sander first to extend the life of the wheel on steel and stainless steel. Also take care to use the WHOLE wheel surface to avoid wearing a groove in the wheel or wearing the wheel on an angle. I cannot make the products that I do as well or as fast without this wheel.
