No issues at all with the trailer hitch receiver. Installation is simple, once you manage to take off all the plastic bits under the rear bumper, but then you have to reassemble all the splash guards. Ugh! It took me about 3 hours, working alone. I think I struggled with the plastic clips that hold the splash guards and black part of the bumper cover the most. It's a

The unit was heavier than I expected and went on just fine. The most difficult part of the installation was getting the Toyota undercarriage fasteners apart. After some experimentation, I used a plastic crowbar I purchased a while ago in a set of plastic body and dash tools, and a flat screw driver to get them out. It might be useful to purchase a few extra before you start because I ended up a couple short. We bought the hitch to allow a 2 bike carrier on our prius. It works like a charm. We bought an Allen bike carrier that has a lockable knob which tightens a wedge in the receiver. The combination of sturdy hitch and wedge tightened Allen carrier has no wobble at all - as was reported in many of the ratings for the carrier. I am very pleased.

It fit my 2019 Toyota Prius perfectly. no drilling or cutting. I watched the youtube how to video from etrailer so not sure how the instructions are. it took me 2.5 hours to do it in the dark. I didnt use the bolts it came with. the factory ones fit for me.If you are doing the install yourself i would suggest buying a few replacement fasteners (i damaged almost all and actually broke 2) and a real metal trim removal tool. I own a plastic one and it just wasn't doing the job. I would also HIGHLY recommend getting a jack and jack stands. the Prius is just too low to comfortably do the job on the ground. it is doable but its going to suck more.Let me just say i have installed a tow hitch on every car i have owned and this was by far the most tedious and annoying install. It took me an hour alone to just get the stupid push fasteners off my bumper. and than another hour to get those damn clips off. the actual hitch install and button everything back up was about 30 minutes.A second person would absolutely make the job easier but i did it alone. I screwed one side of the tow hitch without the bumper over it to hold it in place and then the other side i screwed in the hitch and bumper together and then went back to fix the other side. made it easier with one person.I didnt take a picture but its pretty undercover. looks really. etrailer said its rated to tow something like 2000 lbs but I wouldnt be comfortable towing anything. I got it to hook up a cargo rack on the back for longer road trips.

It did take some time but I knew it would. About 4 hours was the total time it took me having never done this before. I like the way it hides under the bumper. I wish it was a larger hitch receiver, but I was able to buy the adapter at Harbor Freight. Good product, good result. I am happy with my purchase. I am going to use it with the folding trailer that Harbor Freight sells.

Took me 4 hrs to install. Not difficult. But taking the bumper off was a pain. The 14 plastic clips fight back. It would be smarter to buy new clips then try to reuse them. Then when pulling them out you can beat them up. It wouls have saved me 2 hours.

This hitch fit on my 2020 Prius Prime exactly as described, and is hardly visible below the rear bumper. It sits about 10 1/2†above the ground, plenty of clearance. You may need a draw bar extension though, because the receiver sits about 3 1/2†back from the edge of the bumper. Install instructions are good, and there are YouTube videos on the web I recommend you watch. I used a wide ATV jack to hold the hitch and bumper up together while starting a few bolts. I tied the hitch and bumper together in two places with twine to allow hoisting them up together. There are 8 bolts of about 8mm (1/4)diameter holding this to the frame, so pretty sturdy. You will need 12mm and 13mm sockets for the bolts, and the same mm combination wrenches may also be handy. The rest are common flat and Phillips screwdrivers, utility knife and/or strong scissors, and maybe a needle nose pliers to help leverage the 14 push pins out of the underbody shields. I raised the rear of the car about 4†on leveling pads to allow more space to work under the car. I will use this to mount a bike carrier.

It does need to sit a an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch lower on my 2017 Prius because it puts pressure upwards on the bumper. It's not horrible but something to consider as a con
