Easy access to electrical terminals, each brass terminal having a wire socket with tiny Phillips set screw. No strain relief sleeves or weather gaskets on connectors where cable enters. Screw-down metal pinch section on rear of plug to secure cable where it enters the housing. Suggest using anti-oxidation coating on all wires where mechanical connections are made. Possible to solder wires directly into brass sockets if extreme care is used to avoid damaging insulating brass pin separators by excess heat. Suggest using dielectric grease on plug pins and receptacle sockets. Automotive RTV on connectors where cable enters will assist in water exclusion. Verify all cables end-to-end by meter for continuity and correct signals before sealing everything up.

I used this connector to make a control setup for tractor-mounted accessories. The connector is durable and easy to wire. The setup is much less expensive than buying the OEM connectors and just as tough.

This replacement plug and receptacle worked well for my truck/trailer. Unfortunately, me being a novice trailer hauler, did not zip tie the plug to the receptacle on the way to getting the trailer inspected. Since it's not a super tight fit (the flap has a small notch to keep the plug from sliding out) the plug came out and was dragging on the road for a short while (backup emergency battery was also disconnected by mistake). The plug actually held up pretty well for being dragged along the ground. I think a slightly more pronounced notch/latch would help improve the reliability of this plug. Perhaps it's designed that way so the wiring harness doesn't end up getting destroyed if the trailer disconnects from the truck.

I needed a refresh for my trailer and had to replace my older version of this one to achieve that. I had to paint the receptor on my motorcycle to match the frame but this male end plug looks great.
