This 7-way round connector is a female-end socket, specifically designed for the vehicle side of the connection. 7-way RV blades are typically used on RV travel trailers, and this particular connector can be easily interchanges with other 7-way RV connectors.

We made a tester that can be tucked under a seat and parts used are the same as on my truck. These can be used as back up once any issues are diagnosed.

I purchased this product to have on hand as a spare. Recently, my original trailer harness connector (different brand) broke apart near the mounting bracket after 7 years of use. So I replaced the broken original with a similar product (different brand) at a greater cost because it included a mounting bracket and a wiring harness “ready to splice into your existing vehicle wiringâ€. However, I discovered that three of the seven wires of the wiring harness had smaller conductor sizes than my corresponding tow vehicle and trailer wires — specifically, the ground (white) wire, the auxiliary (black) wire, and the electric brake (blue) wire. So I chose to discard the wiring harness and connect my tow vehicle wires directly to the terminal assembly inside the socket. Had I known this, I would have purchased two each of this product instead (one for installation and one for a spare) and reused my existing mounting bracket. Quality-wise, this product appears to be about the same as the the one that I installed.

See a lot of people complaining on here about this product but the one I received was indeed a curt brand plugin a lot better construction than some of the cheaper ones I can get around here at the parts place. Should work for a long time

The plastic housing seems cheaper but the spring retaining mechanism works well to hold the cord in. Good contact blades and their labeling made wiring a breeze
