Highest quality Russian Black Sable is slightly stiffer and more rugged than Red Sable hair allowing for bristle-like strokes, only smoother without marking the paint layers. Excellent for delicate blending and smoothing out ridges; it's a favorite with portrait and realist painters. Black Sable is a great value compared to Kolinsky Red Sable hair, especially in large sizes. Not overly soft like many of our less expensive competitors, a very famous brush from da Vinci.

These are the only oil brushes that have kept their shape and have not worn down for two years. They are the only brushes I now use in all sizes. I tried at least 5 different brands that did not hold up well. They work great with thin oil painting and wash easily.

This brush is excellent. I love to work on small canvas and add a lot of detail using oils and I have never been so satisfied with a small sized brush before. Totally worth the money.

Great little detail brush. I've found that the Rapael brushes are a bit nicer, but this will fill your detailing needs perfectly. Especially if you like the smaller hair length.

There is just something about this brush for me. The first one is quite literally warn down to the metal band. This new one I have no doubt will find the same fate several years from now.

These brushes are great. Similar to the feel of mongoose but plenty of bulk in the brush head and a bit softer than badger. Lovely spring in the hair. I expect them to last a while.

I purchased this to do fine detail work - not a chance. It's supposed to be 3/0 but there's no neat point mine arrived with bristles sprayed in all directions. I tried wetting it still no good so I'm returning it. Also the handle is crazy long, someone ought tell these guys that for fine detail a shorter handle works better !

This is a great brush for detail work. I absolutely love it and cannot wait to buy more da Vinci brushes. The price was also a huge draw as it is (in my opinion) constructed very well.
