I recently upgraded my bathroom fixture from chrome to oil-rubbed bronze. The new color scheme looks great against the existing parchment color bathtub. The diverter on this new Danco spout works much smoother than the one on my old chrome spout.Installation of the new spout was straightforward. The most difficult thing for me was cutting off the existing adapter, which the old spout threaded onto. Once I accomplished that, it was quite simple to assemble the new adapter and thread the new water spout on. The new spout is a really nice upgrade to my existing bathtub.

Purchased an open package returned version. All parts were in package, excellent quality for a brand I was not familiar with . My husband had no issues with installation, the finish was perfect, looks great . Perfect fit.

Looks great, great fit, but hard to follow instructions for my install. Had to call a plumber for my job. Great quality material.

I bought this to replace a 15 year-old spout with a bad diverter and found the initial quality to be quite good considering the cost, but time will tell, of course. My installation was screw-on, and even though I abhor any situation of threading plastic into metal or vice versa, I thought I would to try to save a few bucks by using the included plastic connecting tube. It worked fine when water was coming from the spout, but it leaked (trickled from the opening on the underside) when the diverter was engaged. I checked for leaks on the back end before I attached the spout, so I know the leak was coming from the front. I think the plastic tube is a little short and doesn't thread in quite deep enough, so it might have worked if it was 1/4-in. to 1/2-in. longer. No biggie. I just did as I originally planned and used brass pipe. I had a little trouble figuring out what size of pipe I needed because the old pipe was hopelessly fused inside the old tub spout and the position of the female threads inside the new spout were different. Once I obtained the correct size pipe, it was good to go with no leaks. The water gushes out as I expected with no fan-like spraying that others had mentioned, and the divereter works perfectly with absolutely no water coming from the spout when engaged, so the wife and I are finally enjoying full power showers. Time will tell if this was a good purchase, but the old spout didn't appear to be any higher quality than this, so I imagine we'll get enough usage to justify the $14.00 cost.

Very nice spout, sturdy and good quality for the money. Screwed right on; detailed instructions came in the package but I didn't need them. I also didn't need any of the internal plastic adapters, which are easily removeable. I'm no plumber but I can see this working for several different plumbing configurations.

So I read the other reviews. Figured I am pretty handy and can deal with the issues. Wrong!! Firstly, the instructions are absolutely horrible. They describe a product that isn't even the same as what they are now shipping. My stub out pipe measured 3 1/2 with a threaded fitting on the end, they say it has to be exactly 4" to thread on. I didn't have a coupling so decided to go with the slip on choice. Cut my pipe, carefully deburred and sanded it smooth. The adapter won't go on. Period. So I sanded, and sanded, and sanded, using emery cloth. Nope, won't fit. Sanded some more. Nope. Sanded more. Not a chance. Finally I note the O-ring is nicked. OK, ditch that option. Run to town. Pick up a coupling and a new threaded end fitting. Review the instructions again. 4" exact. Cut my pieces, sweat it all together. Used pipe thread sealant instead of teflon tape. The spout threads down tight and is still 1/8" away from the tile. Absolutely tight, won't go any further. Take it off, disassemble my perfect joints, cut 1/4" off my pipe, sweat it all back together. Screw it back on and presto! Goes tight to the wall. Total time for what should have been a 20 minute job: 3 hours, 10 minutes. If you don't know what you're doing, don't buy this thing. If you do know what you're doing, don't buy it! Now we'll see how the finish holds up over time. And the diverter. Not impressed, guys!!!

My last 6 year old tub spout was aging badly so I traded up and got this item. BEFORE I ordered this, I read the info and watched the video. I measured my copper pipe coming from the wall (2.75 inches). This seemed like a perfect fit. Just arrived, I assembled the tools (silicone, lube, Philips head, sand paper and a rag. They provide the Teflon tape. It works fine, much better than the old Moen.

Looks great! easy to install once you figure out where all the pieces are. Need plumbers silicone grease, and it is not included with the product. I am a 45 year old female and it took me 20 min to take this apart and get it installed (after a trip to the hardware store for the grease). Looks great, I am happy with it.
