Cuts off water supply to tun forcing up to shower for better pressure which is exactly what it's designed to do unlike many other crappy brands in which I'll leave brand names out of the review. Looks nice and shiny, we chose chrome.

I've had cheap(er) tub faucets that were simply slid over the copper water pipe and tightened to the pipe with a screw.This American Standard tub filler has a much better mounting system. See photos.A nylon collar is first slid over the pipe and tightened with a screw. Then another nylon piece is screwed onto the collar. A wide rubber o-ring helps seal between the two pieces and helps prevent water from leaking into the wall cavity. Then the tub filler faucet is screwed onto the assembly until it contacts the chrome trim ring against the wall.This makes a very sturdy and secure installation. The faucet's chrome finish seems high quality, like you would expect from American Standard - a top level brand in plumbing fixtures.Because different tub filler brands mount in different ways, I printed a label and stuck it to the underside of the filler to remind me (or the next person) that it unscrews.I do recommend this tub filler.

This is ONLY the spout piece, if yours doesn't divert to the shower due to it being old and worn out. This is a thread-on, so screw your spout off, add new teflon tape or whatever to the copper tube coming out of the wall, and screw this one on. Voila! The faceplate has 3 tabs, bend all 3 with a screw driver in order to slide it over the end of the copper tube, and BE SURE to bend them back into place so it stays centered with the pipe. NOTE: some people remarked there was not another piece, as shown in the picture. Amazon needs to remove that picture from their site for this product, as it's erroneous and confusing-it is not included.

After years of use, our diverter would stick and require a lot of force to pull/push to switch from the tub spout to the shower. I got tired of oiling it every couple weeks to keep it usable and looked for a good quality replacement. I was not impressed with the stuff available at the big box stores. This unit was a little on the expensive side but wanted something solid that would last. This one defiantly works like a dream, just a gentle pull to take a shower and the plunger drops down by itself when the water turns off. Time will tell how long it will work this well, but I have high hopes with how well this one is made.

This tub spout is definitely worth a 5 star rating IF the internal components would have been included. I loved the appearance of it and it also had some heft to it so you know it’s going to last. I tried to get the internal components at my local hardware store but they were not available. It was not worth my time and effort to run around to plumbing companies to see if they would have something to make it useful so unfortunately I had to return for something else.

This is American Standard 060340-0020A plus a decorative plate. It will not fit unless the stub out from the tile is 1/2 inch unless you enlarge the hole on the plate for a 3/4†pipe. The plate is 1/4 “ deep. So with the plate it will be 3.75 “ to the 1/2†FPT. So add threads length to screw in to the spout. Great value and quality but didn’t fit my 3/4†pipe.

It's a shame nothing works anymore. I have low water pressure and run out of hot water quickly in my apartment, so in choosing a diverter, I relied on the American Standard brand to actually DIVERT the water, as there is no picture of the underneath actually giving you an idea on how the diverting method works. Guess why... IT'S THE SAME AS HOME DEPOT'S DANCO. I really don't care about the fancy trim ring, I NEED A TUB SPOUT WITH DIVERTER THAT DIVERTS THE WATER, AND THIS DOESN'T. After trying 4 brands unsuccessfully, I just decided to have an awful looking but excellent working method: escutcheon around 1/2 inch copper, a in-line valve, and a 1/2 inch NPT elbow. Costed less than this piece of crap also! And I can finally take a hot long shower!!!! Maybe I should sell it???

Il fallait substituer cette pièce de ma douche et je craignais ne pas pouvoir la trouver puisqu'il s'agit d'un modèle qui n'est plus fabriqué par American Satndard. Mais je l'ai trouvée ici (exactement la même) et la changer a été très facile.

Very disappointed! received a item without internal core ( a built-in diverter) provided, how we can install it? have to go to Purolator to return it back. Not sure how it can happen! Please be careful to order this product, you may get defective product!
