Seems off color in tube but once you sand it becomes pretty close. Better than what I made mixing wood glue and sawdust.

I did not know how to fix. Reading Bob Villa, I tried. Got a stainable product at Home Depot and it looked awful. Came on here and thanks to the reviews I was able to fix my first try and make a great solution to my floor that had started to splinter and which gets lots of use. I figure I saved myself the cost of a new floor! Easy to use. I sealed it with verathane after lightly sanding it. My only regret is that I didn’t fix it myself when the first splinter got into my bare foot. It’s so easy, but because I waited, more splinters, more sanding, and harder to fill in. But I am more than satisfied, with my floor now. It’s 18 years old and probably will be replaced someday, but not in the near future by me! Ps. I’m a senior citizen and I did it myself! 😀.

I’m a finish carpenter and I use this product (in a variety of colors) for all woodworking projects on the job as well as home. It’s the perfect texture and sands easily

This is red oak, and I used it on red oak solid wood and plywood. It goes on *really* dark. I find that after drying and sanding, it's fairly close to the right color, but still a hair too dark and stands out on larger spots. It might be worth trying to mix in a lighter color if that works to lighten the overall color. Otherwise, it worked well for me.

I used it on the floor to fill cracks on my terracotta tiles! It worked!

First I was about to buy it from Amazon vendor Toodaughters for $8.37 to be delivered 9/2-9/7, but below Amazon.com said they would deliver it faster for $8.71, delivered 9/3 (there is a similar add today, again involving Toodaughters). I needed it then and should have driven 50 miles to Lowe's or Home Depot, or just sucked up the higher price of the local Ace. But I went with Amazon.com. As soon as I placed the order I was informed it would arrive 9/13. I should have just canceled the order and done one of the above, but there were other items in the order I wanted (and was in no hurry for). Then Amazon tried to make me feel better saying the order was now arriving early, 9/9. Then it arrived 9/7. Now wait for it: that was also the latest date Toodaughters would have gotten it to me.Now for DAP. Imagine trying to squeeze the last tiniest bit of toothpaste out of a well used tube, but this was the beginning of the DAP tube. Then it didn't spread well (too thin) and was the wrong color. I'm using solid red oak; this isn't even close. When I was young, decades ago, putty came in a can. It was easy to get out, easy to use, dried the right color, and the can could be sealed for later use. Sure, after months or years it dried out, but at least it worked. And it was cheap.Like I said, disappointed with Amazon and DAP. Off to Walmart to see what they have on their shelf.
