The distinctive lever-operated locking system of each barbell collar is encased in lightweight high-impact polyester. The lever allocates the torque, so a small amount of force can close the barbell collars safely and secured. Anyone can use these barbell clamps regardless of hand size or strength. The Dark Iron Fitness Olympic Barbell Collars also feature a rubber strip inside the mechanism for reinforced grip on the bar. No matter how much weight you pack on, the plates will not slide around on the bar.

How to use barbell collars:
To use: open the clamp so the lever is 90 degrees from the cuff, slide your Olympic weights on the bar, slide the cuff snugly against the weights, push the lever until it clicks into the cuff.
To remove: Pull the lever down so that it is 90 degrees from the cuff, slide the cuff off of the bar.

I bought a set of these in 2016. I like them so much I’m buying another set here in 2025. The other set still works perfectly, I bought this set for a hex bar.They just work.Simple, no fuss.Great product at a reasonable price.

I am very happy with my purchase. These are exactly what I needed to make my sessions smoother and easier. My BB like many others came with the spring clamps (ugh!) Which, let's face it, half the time are more work to get on and off than your actual workout.... and make your workout unecessarily long. These clamps have worked perfectly. And as time goes on get better and better. Like any new clamps, they were difficult to get on and off the bar to begin with, but with a bit of sanding and back and forth repetitive use on the bar, they work beautifully. And make my workout less of a hassle! LESS time spent in between sets! Couldn't be happier with the customer service as well. They immediately email you and make sure you are happy with your purchase as well as giving you the sanding tips if you don't already know to do so. Will absolutely be buying more products from this mall business in the future!

I bought these to bring with me to the gym because I was tired of trying to track down clamps since people steal them from the gyms I go to. I have used them for various exercises, namely deadlifts, and they do not seem to budget at all. They are plastic, but feel quite durable. The inside has two pieces of rubber on opposite sides which aid in preventing slippage. I also like that you can swing the latch in either direction to release/tighten the clamps down. That all said, the one complaint I have is they are quite tight and thus sometimes difficult to get on the bar. All in all, given their function and the price point I give this product 5 stars. They do what I need them to do. However, it would be nice if they opened a hair more do to make it easier for them to slide on the bar.

My old gym had these collars and they were the best that I've used. Easy to slide on and with a twist, it is locked onto the end of the bar.

Sadly I had to return these clamps. I had high hopes based upon reviews but these Dark Iron clamps are simply too tight to fit reasonably onto my olympic barbell. I have a Fitness Gear 2" barbell with ribs cut into the weight plate ends. These ribs are great to help keep plates from sliding around but I think the ribs add just enough thickness/friction subsequently causing these clamps to not fit as I had hoped.I am able to slid the clamps onto the bar with quite a bit of force. Once on the bar and locked I don't think they would come off no matter what you threw at it. Unlocking then trying to slid them off is even harder. There is just too much resistance due to the ribs on the bar. I believe that even 1/16-1/32 of an inch greater opening size would work for me. However it might just make the difference in a 1 15/16 bar working or not.Unfortunately one size does not fit all. I asked the supplier if they had any options but they did not respond to that questions.Good luck.UPDATE 1/12/17-Dark Iron Fitness has won my Vendor of the Year award!! They reached out to me after the problem through email. We exchanged several emails trying to understand the root cause. This resulted in them sending me more clamps at their expense. With the new clamps from them I have found the new set to now actually fit my Cap barbell! I can actually slide them on and off with reasonable effort. So I am very happy! They are working great. The original clamps must have just been on the very tight tolerance side. They have won me over and when I need other products that they have then they will be first in line.

These clamps really are fantastic. They will fit your standard 2" bar. The great part is, they go on and come off the bar with one easy motion as the clamps open away from the plate and close toward the plate so it easy to keep the plates snug. If they seem a bit snug at first, they will certainly get a better fit after some use. Also, they are made of a heavy duty polymer plastic and a fair amount of heft, so they seem as thoug longevity will be no issue. Beyond that the customer service is great because someone from the company reached out to me after receipt to ensure everything met my expectations. Great clamp from a great company.

These collars fit a little snug when first sliding into the bar, due to the rubber material inlaid in the locking rings. I assume that will loosen up a bit with use, but even now it's no more of a hassle than regular spring collars.Locking and unlocking is easy, and I haven't had any issues with the collars unlocking on their own.When locked, the collars are very secure. No more wobble during floor pulls!I did have a slight shipping snafu (my package only had one collar in it). Amazon indicated that I would need to return it as defective and reorder, which was a problem as they were out of stock at that point. I contacted Dark Iron directly, and they sent out a replacement pair with no issues. I couldn't be happier with their customer service!
