I was looking for things that had a digital out (I'm into that kind of thing and want to be able to press a button and have it 'type' the value into my computer). I could not get this one with the micro usb to work, no matter how I tried. note, these are NEVER computer usb sockets, that I know. I've written code to parse this payload so I know its not computer usb. its not usb at all but they just use the micro usb socket. anyway, I could not get digital-out to work. mic is fine and I liked it. wanted it to work. ended up with igaging brand. all of their stuff has digital-out that works, for some reason.

This is good if you're constantly measuring 1" to 2" items and that's it. Personally, I would recommend just getting on that has a wide range of measurements. But this is accurate and I would recommend.

This is an accurate digital micrometer, designed to measure within 1/1000 of an inch - far more accurate and repeatable than the typical digital slider calipers most people use today.Opening the included plastic box you find a calibration certificate, warranty, "manual", the micrometer itself, two batteries, a strange piece of metal, and a bearing attachment which provides a rounded surface useful for measuring wall thickness of tubing, bearings or other rounded surfaces. The manual is less than useless, fortunately this thing is simple enough that you don't really need it. I figured out that the strangely shaped piece of metal is used to open the battery compartment on the back of the micrometer.Once the battery is installed, turning on the micrometer is simple. It can be switched between inches and mm, and it can be zeroed at any point. The adjusting knob has a force limiter clutch which helps produce consistent, repeatable measurements. The micrometer also has a USB port on it. Absolutely no idea why it has this - the micrometer is not rechargeable. The manual makes no mention of it at all, other than calling it out as a "data port" in the diagram. So who knows what it's for?It can measure up to 25mm, and has a friction lock which works very well. This micrometer is accurate and provides consistent, repeatable measurements which agree with my other micrometers. The adjustment knob does feel a bit plasticy and cheap, but it's worked just fine for me so far.Who is this for?- Anyone who needs a very accurate micrometerPros:- Accurate- Repeatable measurements- Easy to read displayCons:- Manual is less than useless- Mystery undocumented USB port

This has a smooth action and appears to be accurate. It's also very easy to use. The build quality feels good, and I like that they provide 2 (disc) batteries. Inserting the battery was a little challenging, but that's not a big deal. Like my other Dasqua micrometer (the 0-1" non-electronic one), the case feels cheaply made. However, this one is easier to open (just slide the little metal tab to one side). Overall, a nice micrometer at a good price.
