After pull starting for 10 months decided to get the parts to fix the starter... 02 Honda Rancher 350 ES 4x4...I do a lot of my mechanical work myself but haven't done this. Watched a few you tube videos then went and changed out the parts. My original brushes were toasted. Just make sure you have everything lined up correctly and it will go back together easily....back together and vrooom..el start works fine. I changed these 6 months ago and no problems since. Easy and cheap fix. Didn't bother with bearing and whatever else came with it.... can't imagine the bearing would be worn out . Hardest part was getting the bottom bolt out of the airbox. To check and see if you have the same problem1. turn your key on2.while pushing and holding the starter button pull start it by hand ...if the starter tries to engage while you are doing this you need brushes....

Worked perfectly. I now have my automatic starter back instead of having to pull start(after 3 years). It didn't take me very long to rebuild and once I had the old one apart I could clearly see the problem and fixed it. My husband was skeptical, but once he put it back on the 4 wheeler and started it 15 to 20 times, he was convinced I did it right. Just an FYI, I do have previous mechanical work, however, I hadn't done this type of rebuild before. You may not need all the parts that are provided in this kit, but it had all the parts that I needed. Also, if you don't like your hands and nails getting greasy, then wear gloves, otherwise I just use a hand degreaser like GOJO or a comparative other.

Electric start on 97 Foreman worked less than half the time - usually solenoid would just click and have to pull start. This kit has it working good as new now. If you're marginally mechanically apt an easy fix - whole process (remove/repair/replace) took about 30 minutes. Like other reviewers I didn't bother replacing bearings but used everything else. It was clear when I took it apart the brushes were shot and main problem - frankly surprised it even started half the time.

The brushes wore out on my ATV's starter and I used this kit to replace them. I didn't bother with installing all of the parts (like bushings and bearings since mine were still good and I didn't want to mess with it) but I used the brushes and seals. Starter has been going strong for months since.

The starter motor stopped working on our 2003 Honda Rancher 350 ES. There was a lot of oil infiltration in the starter motor, and the brushes were worn low.Replacing the ring and brushes fixed the starter, and time will tell if replacing the gaskets keeps out the oil. The bearing was much too large for this starter, but I didn't need it anyhow.Docking 1 start just because the bearing didn't fit.

I like dB electrical, but they partially let me down this time. The starter rebuild kit I ordered came in, but the roller bearing was the wrong size and the kit came with a bearing that I have no idea where it goes. The original started did not have that one. All the other parts in the kit fit perfectly. I reused the old roller bearing and the started now works flawlessly. I would still recommend DB electrical because this is the first issue I have ever had with them.

Have yet to install, but you get more 'stuff' for less than just the brushes cost from Honda.Update 28 Jan....had to rebuild the TRX350FM starter finally 'cuz the armature dressing timed out. Fit just fine, and had some parts in the kit I didn't use. To repeat, a Honda dealer will want more'n twice this price for the brushes alone (aftermarket to boot..) Givin' an extra star !!

Great parts kit for the price. Honda wanted $600 for a new starter. 🙄🤣Same issue as everyone else. The needle bearing they supply is too small for the armature shaft. I destroyed the old needle bearing trying to remove it and realized the issue after it was too late. Quick fix was to use the poor man’s lathe (bench grinder) to turn down the shaft and smooth it out in the drill press with a flat file. 10 minutes of dicking around. Besides that, it’s a great kit.
