Very good clean cuts on a 1/4x20 all thread. Easy to use, easy to put the nut on the cut and cleaned bolt.

Have seen all the videos and reviews, so hoped it would work, and it did. Used for multiple bolts on a hot rod fabrication. Used on 3/8 stainless threaded rod to hold in a gas tank. Deburred the ends without a problem and the bolts threaded on without a problem afterwards. Used on grade 8, 5/8 inch U bolts after they were cut down for a rear end. Worked effortlessly on those also. Used on a few other bolts during assembly also, and did not have a problem with the tool working as it should. Just to note, you will need a vise to hold the item while working on it, don't expect to just hold the item by hand and it to work. You need to apply a bit of pressure to it as it cuts. But it will do the job and do it well. Will definitely not be without one in the future, and will probably order an extra just in case one gets misplaced.

This tool says it'll go down to 1/8" / M3 screws, and I can believe it, but there's no reasonable way to get a typical-length screw that small up into the tool. And if you can't hold the small screw securely, there's a good chance it will bind or catch in the tool.Wish I could get a version for small screws only. Would save this tinkerer some time at the bench grinder.

works great to clean up the end of bolts after cutting. A quick zip and your threads are perfect! I used this tool to clean up the end of a few hundred bolts and it still works great. This is a must have tool when trimming bolts.

I've rounded out numerous bolts and studs I've come across over the past year and haven't noticed any real wear. I use decent pressure on said stud and go nice and slow. Sometimes you need to start fast to knock off a bit and do some pecking.I bought this due to the advertised tungsten material.. I have no way to test this and determine or care to do so. But this item definitely works and has paid itself off. I'd buy it again if needed or I'm considering getting a larger one too because any sort of small piping etc. It's a treat to give it a nice finish afterwards . This is great for cutting wheel studs as well

Have you ever had to trim a bolt because it was too long and sticking out too much or hanging up on things? I usually put the nut on, trim the bolt and use the nut to straighten out the threads. Sometimes that works, other times it’s still a pain. Anyway, this chamfer tool does make a difference. I don’t use the nut anymore and the installation of the nut is pretty easy afterwards. Well worth it.

Thanks to a neighbour who described a "tapering" bit which might work, I searched and found these chamfering tools, and used this particular one to clean up the threads on a motorcycle with a damaged rear sprocket stud. It worked great to clean up the first couple of damaged threads so we could get a new nut on to install a new sprocket. It saved time and money trying to source a replacement stud or a new hub ($$$$). Not bad for $16 on sale.

Works well; use a cutting fluid with it and it will clean a hundred or more pieces. Will be adding to permanent consumable tools inventory.
