This is definitely just a "knick knack"...does not look "real". I didn't look well enough at photos or descriptions...because it is not very realistic. The "wire" is rigid metal and the dial is just bumps. Nothing moves...one solid piece. I looked at price and thought it was a great deal...but frankly kind of disappointed. But it is just to set on an old antique desk, so it will be fine.

I should have read reviews before buying this. If I had, I would not have bought it. As long as you don't get too close, this looks good. Thus, if you use it in a photograph, it could pass (as it does in the Amazon product photo). But, as others have noted, this "phone" does not work. In fact, it is not a non-working replica; it is a metal sculpture. The pieces are metal, and welded together. You will not be able to move any part of it independent of the other parts: it is one solid thing. I mistakenly thought it was a non-working replica phone that I could use in a vintage photoshoot. Not so, unless I just want it to sit on a table or something. To repeat: it is a solid piece; no part of it can be moved by itself, inless maybe you own a hacksaw.

Nothing plastic or cheap about it. Heavy. Wasn't sure how it would look,but, my wife worked for Southern Bell phone company many years ago and it reminded her of the time that she was with the phone company. Makes me think of the good ole days and how this country started. Phones now, are hand held computers, TV's, radio, facetime, camera's with additional apps to enhance the pictures, music on demand, any genre, any artist, instant news, ect. Amazing but yet have ruined lives as well. I long for days of old. Simple.
