Be careful of other long line clips that don't fully grasp the line (not sure what those are for). These ones DO fully grasp it. So, they are perfect for a jerk jig. Your jerk line needs to be somewhat thick still to get a firm grip (paracord, rubber coated cable, decoy line, etc.). Essentially, you probably shouldn't use thin braided line (fishing line) but I may be the only person who has tried that.Hot tip: Some places sell metal wire with a green rubber coating as clothes-line cable and it works well for decoy line and these clips. And is much cheaper than buying by the foot. You might want to add a few swivels along it to keep the line twist in check, which adds to the cost and build time.

These are the perfect size for running long lines with decoys. I got a bigger size at first but these are perfect.

In my search for ways to stack lures on my down riggers, I came upon this sort of attachment for those I want in fixed positions. They work extremely well, are very strong and are a better choice for what I do than the much larger longline versions that are more prevalent on the market.

First word in product description DECOY. NOT to be used as baiting clips, just decoys baits. Heavier/bigger clips for bait dragging or L/L.

The only reason it wasn't a 5 is I was expecting that the clip would open out completely like a safety pin. Instead it opens in to allow a line to be clipped in place. I had hoped to clip these to the decoys to make removable lines but I couldn't do that. I wish the operation had been better explained however they are very sturdy and hold well to the lines they are clipped on. Very good product.

These are perfect for rigging a jerk rig for quick disconnects and not having a tangled up main line when it’s time to go home.
