My tailgate outer metal hinge bushing broke on my brand new 2019 6 months after I purchased. This locking device goes over that bushing part and does the job of keeping the tailgate secured! It solved my problems. Even if your bushings aren't busted, it reinforces it to prevent damage. I installed with the Dee Zee slow tailgate assist I swear it adds 10 hp at the wheels. I'm extremely happy with this product and the lift. Highly recommend to everyone with a tailgate.

When I installed the locking ring it’s either too large or too narrow to stop someone from removing the gate. I’d the ring slides to the right it can slip off the hinge and become totally useless. Kit comes with foam strips that will do nothing to stop someone from prying the ring ti the right with minimal effort. Also the locking screw is not recessed so someone could use a saw to easily cut a slot in the screw and remove it. Very poorly designed device. Would have been better off to use a hose clamp

Very easy installation. Some effort was needed because of the factory seam sealer which isn’t DeeZee’s fault. It isn’t Fort Knox, but hopefully slows thieves down!

Clearly not designed for each listed application. Very oversized for my F150. Using all the foam “shims†it came with there is just barely enough filler to avoid an absolutely loose and jiggly fit. No way those foam pieces last more than a few months though.I’ll run it for now, we will see.

Fits 2021 F150. Easy to install and will at least slow the thief down. Only thing is it comes with two different size foam stick on pads for the inside to prevent noise. I had to use both layers of the foam to prevent it from sliding around as it was a little bit big on the truck. But other than that it fits great.

I have a Chevy Colorado so maybe my problem is because my truck is smaller than standard. The ring goes over the tailgate hinge but is very loose. I think it will stop someone from taking my tailgate but I expected the ring to fit snug
