Easy installation. Directions are ok, I suggest searching pop and lock in you tube, there are several quick installation videos. Once I watched the video, installation took me approximately 15 min., mainly because I took care not to scratch the finish in removing the latch cover; and because I took care to inspect and fully understand the operation of the device.Once installed, the pop and lock tail gate lock works perfectly as advertised. Combine the tail gate lock with a high quality bed cover, it creates a secure area for your gear. Allowing me to keep fishing poles and tackle in the truck bed without fear of it walking away.Pricing of this product on amazon cannot be beat. Amazon price half that offered by my local dealership and a 1/3 the cost of adding a GM version to the truck.Installation is so easy.

I installed this on my 2012 Silverado. The lock was easy to install in 15 minutes, but the final result was not good. The lock is not a perfect fit and it causes the handle to stick out slightly. The handle is no longer flush with the bezel as it was before installation. The lock does lock the tailgate as it is supposed to, but the quality of the lock gave me the feeling that it will break down after a year or two. Overall, I was not satisfied with the fit and quality.

This item was easy to install, I accidentally bought the wrong one originally and it was easy to return. I didn't realize that my 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD had a new body style, and I ordered the pop lock for the old body style. Leave it to Chevrolet to have 2 body styles in 2007. The PL1300 fit easily and installed quickly. It works great and I am pleased to have done the work myself by following the easy steps in the instruction paperwork.

The lock arived today as predicted by Amazon's e-mail. You must read the instructions; all of the pages. They are easy to read but go over them to get a clear picture of what you are going to do. All the pictures were accurate; all the parts were accounted for in the clear bubble pack. Do not be in a hurry to do this project - go slow and it will be easy. My install was right on - the first time. One thing of note though; they changed the screw from needing a small phillips screw driver to a very very small hex wrench. A better device to tighten the little black 6/32 screw would be a very small hex driver which they did not supply. I have all of the tools for such projects. But does everyone?All of the materials look to be of first rate quality and keys worked the first time.Once the install was completed, the lock looked 110% and was hardly noticeable.

I installed this on my 2011 Silverado in about 15 minutes. It would have been quicker, but I had to take the bed liner off my tailgate to access the screws that hold the opening mechanism in place. It was a piece of cake to pop the handle out, put the lock in place and put the handle back in. The directions aren't the greatest, but it's a pretty simple mechanism to figure out. If you need help, though, there are videos available on the internet showing just how to do it. I would definitely recommend the Pop & Lock.

Great value and works great. Installation is easy but NOTE TO BUYER *If you have a cover on the tail gate handle, you will have to remove it. At least I had to on an 08 Chevy Silverado.
